The T-72Z is a highly modernized version of the T-55, with upgrades performed by Defence Industries Organization of Iran. The name Safir-74 refers to Iranian T-54 tanks which have gone through similar upgrades, and Type T-72z refers to Type 59 tanks which have also undergone upgrade.
