Iran’s security forces reported today that they have defused a home-made bomb left on a Kish Airlines plane carrying 131 passengers from Ahvaz to Tehran on Saturday [IRNA, 31 May]. The airliner had to make an emergency landing at Ahvaz international airport minutes after takeoff.
YaariNews, close to former President Mohammad Khatami, said Khatami was planning to come back to Tehran from Ahvaz about the same time, but he changed his schedule and departed earlier. It was not clear whether Khatami was the target.
