The governing body of the Islamic Solidarity Games meeting in Riyadh on Saturday withdrew its earlier decision to award Iran to be the host of the Second Islamic Solidarity Games. Tehran, Mashhad and Isfahan were the planned venues for the competitions. The cancellation of Iran’s sponsorship was a response to Iran’s insistence on using the Persian Gulf name on the medals and programs associated with the games.
