Ahmadinejad criticises Israel over 'threats of a second Gaza War'

Upon a statement made deputy Israeli prime minister Silvan Shalom over a second war with Gaza as the result of a rocket attack on Friday (which landed in a field in southern Israel, which was followed by over 13 aircraft sorties into Gaza maiming a dozen civilians) Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has warned against such actions and in a short speech stated:

"The myth of an undefeatable Israel is over.

They had created the illusion in everyone's mind that they (the Zionists) can not be defeated. But that myth was shattered after the regime suffered two defeats, once in southern Lebanon and later on in Gaza.

Now, they are trying to make up [for past defeats], as they know that they will reach the end if they lose the awe attributed to them and if regional nations no longer fear them."

He also criticized the regime in Israel stating that it is the "sole obstacle to the establishment of peace and security in the region."
