Iran National Football (Soccer) Squad lost to South Korea tonight in extra time and was eliminated at the quarterfinals of the Asian Cup 2011 in Doha. Iran was seeking to win the Asian Cup for the first time in more than three decades. Iran has won three consecutive Asian Cups from 1974 to 1976.

Hopefuly next time Iran will do better. Good effort though. Korea is a strong team with good aggressive play.
Iran played magnificently throughout the tournament. They excited the country and raised lots of hope. But this is sports, you also lose, and the Korean team indeed played a better football yesterday. Hope Qotbi stays on and not leave for Japan!
