The website Haft Sobh (“7 AM”), close to President Ahmadinejad and his supporters, said today that Ahmadinejad will participate in an already-scheduled TV interview next week only if the program is broadcast live. Ahmadinejad, the report says, wants to talk directly to the Iranian citizens without being censored by the authorities.
The deepening political crisis in Iran is producing some surreal situations: the sitting president and the darling of the ruling class until a few days ago is now concerned that the “authorities” would censor his speech. The speed of transformation from a leader of the Islamic revolution to a suspected enemy of the state has become mind-boggling these days!

JAVAN in a news report quotes Ayatollah Seyyed Hashem Hosseini
ReplyDeleteBushehri as saying that enemies will take the dream of dual power in
Iran to the grave.
The enemies are seeking to find an issue in order to blow it out of
proportion and launch a propaganda campaign, he said in an indirect
reference to the row created over the resignation of the intelligence
and the Supreme Leader’s opposition to the resignation.
Hosseini Bushehri, [>] a member of the Assembly of Experts, said
through such ploys the enemies are trying very hard to deflect the
public attention from the Islamic awakening movements in the Middle
East and North Africa to unimportant things.
The member of the Assembly of Experts also said as the Supreme Leader
said, the concept of dual power which is raised by the enemies is
unfounded. He went on to say that experience shows that whenever the
governments (successive administrations) have come to power through
public support, they have succeeded to achieve their goals with the
backing of the Leadership.
Apparently the above quotes are from 04/28/2011 Javan newspaper
article "Dual sovereignty Alqaknndgan impasse illusion" (courtesy of
Google translate). If not, correct me.

Mr Khatami seems to have removed any doubt that existed on this story in his Friday prayer sermon in which he said:
ReplyDeleteحمايت مردم از مسئولين مشروط به
اطاعت آنها از رهبري است
People’s support for the Officials is conditional upon obedience to the leader!
Ahmadinejad? More like ARABdinejad.
