An Iranian military plane crashed near the southern city of Sarvaestan today, with the pilot killed and the co-pilot injured. The plane reportedly belonged to the Islamic Republic of Iran Air Force (IRIAF) and was believed to be a Russian-built Sukhoi. IRNA reported that the aircraft was on a training mission. No other details were available.
It is probably Su-24. If it is, its a pity, because it is a great bomber, with long range and great penetration capabilities, thus making it formidable opponent for any adversary.
