Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on Sunday took over the Ministry of Oil as its caretaker minister. He could represent Iran at the upcoming OPEC meeting in Vienna. Iran is the current rotating chair of OPEC, and in his capacity as the Iranian oil minister, Ahmadinejad can chair the Vienna meeting scheduled for 8 June, unless he appoints a representative instead.
This could make for an interesting OPEC meeting given Iran currently has the presidency of the organization
ReplyDeletewell observed anon upstaris..
ReplyDeletedon't know if it fits here, but an irrelevent information for you nontheless..
this morning I woke up to a sudden news hype on Syria, where TV is showing officers beating naked people with sticks and etc.
However, those beaters were wearing Iraqi uniforms of the Saddam army and the material was already leaked after the invasion of Iraq.. so why suddely it is projected on Sysria after the Bloody Israeli weekend !..
just a point.

ReplyDeleteIt looks like mass grave sites are being found, uncovered, (and exposed to the press) in Syria, fresh bodies, also many women and children.
Is Assad the kind of friend the Iran needs???
How can we help Syria with this kind of stuff going on, how can this be blamed on Israel & the USA???
Just a point....
A lot of the media coverage on Syria are fake..Yes, FAKE!!Most of the videos are fabricated..What the "opposition" is trying to achieve is the Libyan scenario - where the government is demonized to the point that it becomes imperative for the international community(read "US/EU/NATO") to "act".
ReplyDeleteNotice how the media propaganda has escalated ever since last weekend when the Palestinians actually managed to cross in Israel to claim what's been stolen from them.Truth is, Israel's terrified to death of the declaration of a Palestinian state in September and will do all she can to stop it. Therefore it's important for them to cast the focus of the region on Syria so they can have some breathing space.
Word out there is that, the opposition is even refusing to negotiate. This shows how sinister the whole plot is. They want to drag it to the point of bringing the whole country to a standstill.I'm afraid there will be war in the region if this drags on for another month and it won't be pretty.
It's not about democracy. It's all about having a regime in place that's favorable to Israel, the house of Saud and her assorted Persian Gulf dictators. Fortunately for Syria, their army is not easily bought as that of Libya and the rest of the armies in the region.
If Assad is a dictator, has he killed more people than Bush, Blair,Obama in Office?
last anon,
ReplyDeleteplease allow me to draw your attention to the fact that the media, we have since the 90's... is as reliable as......
its a question of wanting to believe..
I don't trust the news. It could have been the Xe people in Jordan as far as we are concerned.... burying their victims just over the border... would u believe this ? probably not but there are people who are willing to believe this... just like u willing to believe the bodies to have been the work of the others...
:)
