Avoiding Aggravation of Growing Tensions in the Region
The US and Israeli militaries have postponed large-scale war games scheduled for April, the Israeli defense officials announced today. The military exercise would be rescheduled for the second half of 2012 [AP, 16 January].
It is believed that the missile defense drill, codenamed "Austere Challenge 12,” was postponed to avoid aggravating growing tensions in the region over Iran’s nuclear program.
Thousands of American and Israeli soldiers were to take part in the exercise, which was designed to test multiple Israeli and US air defense systems against incoming missiles and rockets from Iran.
They might even be cancelled.
ReplyDeletePerhaps Obama blinked. If so, it's welcome news. A war is not in the interests of ordinary Americans or Iranians.
Anon 2;06 you got that right! Obama may have three or four carrier groups ringed around Iran but he's blinking from fear due to US military inadequacy
ReplyDeletethe Israelis and Americans HAD to cancel because they don't have any of that really advanced weaponry that the Iranians lately featured and didn't want to be completely shown up.
the USA is ashamed to admit that it doesn't even have a single one of those missile trucks propelled by teams of donkeys or any of those tiny submarines staffed by those spiffy spider monkeys dressed up as Iranian admirals.
WE KNEW IT WOULD NOT HAPPEN!!
ReplyDeleteThe Israelis feared IRAN might monitor the whole excercise to its advantage ,ISREAL undertakes war games periodically but in EUROPE away from the glare of IRANIAN'S cameras!!.a sophistacated military drill is risky to both AMERICAN AND ISRAEL thanks to the IRANIAN radar power!!.
As it seems the true reason behind the US side calling off this joint US-Israel drill was a provocation by Israeli Deputy Prime Minister Moshe Yaalon which he spew in direction of the US in an early morning Israel Army Radio interview on January 5. There he said: "The only reason the United States is hesitant over sanctions against Iran's central bank and oil is for fear of a spike in oil prices".
ReplyDeleteJust let those Zionist-controlled robots keep barking on!
ReplyDeleteBMA---you remain as funny as ever.
ReplyDeletethank you for visiting our planet and sharing such wonderful out-of-this-world ideas about the might of those Iranian radar arrays that the iranians don't know how to build and which they try to import.
