Final Step in Nuclear Fuel Production Cycle
The Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad today oversaw the insertion of the first Iranian domestically made fuel rod into a research reactor in Tehran. Meanwhile, the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran announced that the new generation of also domestically made high-speed centrifuges have been installed and have gone into operation at Natanz uranium enrichment plant in central Iran [IRNA and Fars News Agency, 15 February].
The manufacturing of nuclear fuel rod is reportedly the final step in the entire cycle of nuclear fuel, from extracting uranium ore to producing the finished rods.
Today's events represent major progress in the development of the country’s nuclear technology. Iran insists its nuclear program is for civilian use only, while the Western powers suspect it is aimed at producing nuclear weapons.
'IRAN TO PRODUCE NEW YELLOW CAKE'
ReplyDeleteWed Feb 15, 2012 1:30PM GMT
Head of Atomic Energy Organization of Iran Fereydoun Abbasi says Tehran will start producing new yellow cake next year.
Abbasi said on Wednesday new generation centrifuges have been installed and activated at Natanz nuclear facility.

So after all the assassinations and sanctions, the West has failed to deter Iran..
ReplyDeleteHow long will the sh*t-heads in the EU realize that one cannot impede knowledge? For Iran, the nuclear program IS a MUST in a world of increasingly dwindling resources..Iran CANNOT depend on oil for long.
Well done Iran!!!
To the above.....Iran has 250 to 300 tons in gold and $20 billion in foreign notes.
ReplyDeleteDon't make 4 crows into 20.Besides if Iran did have $120 billion it will only last for one year and their gold reserves will be hard to sell due to sanctions.
Heard of SWIFT before?
The Society For Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunications will soon block Iranian transactions and that will truly screw the Islamic republic in every way possible.
Basically you might as well drop a few nuclear bombs on Iran.
Let's hope the rods meet international specifications and won't cause a nuclear disaster in Tehran.
ReplyDelete'WESTERN OFFICIALS CONFIRM IRANIAN EXPERTS' SUCCESS IN CYBER WAR'
ReplyDeleteWed Feb 15, 2012 7:21PM GMT
Western officials have confirmed Iranian engineers’ success in countering the Israeli-led cyber attacks aimed at damaging Tehran’s peaceful nuclear program.
Several American and European officials, who asked not to be named, say the Islamic Republic’s computer experts have successfully thwarted and purged the Stuxnet malware from the country’s industrial facilities, reported Reuters on Tuesday.
The officials, however, did not provide any details on how they verified that the Iranians had disabled the virus.
In June 2010, Iran identified the virus, Stuxnet, averting damage to the country's industrial sites and resources.
Stuxnet is a malware designed to infect computers using supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems made by the German company Siemens -- which are favored by industries that manage water supplies, oilrigs, and power plants.
Besides a big bunch of gold bars, Iran also has big problems importing food for its citizens, and food prices are sky-high and still climbing.
ReplyDeleteI guess that when the people start eating gold bars and drinking unsold petroleum, everything will be fine ....for a while.
It is now plain to see what the charade is all about: “By suddenly stating, contrary to all informed estimates, that Iran's nuclear arms program has not yet reached the point-of-no-Return, Israel's Defense Minister Ehud Barak implied that Israel was in no hurry to strike its nuclear facilities.” The object of the game being played on Iran, is simple, “without a superpower sponsor, you cannot adopt Israel's nuclear ambiguity policy without paying a terrible economic price.” Defiantly, the Iranians crossed every 'red line' US-Israeli had put up with its 2/15/12 display of nuclear technologies, but US-Israeli simply invented a new goal line... The mantra “all options on the table” is the means to scare other nations to join the sanction coalition. In other words, they have known all along that they can't bomb a nuclear Iran!!!
ReplyDeleteMilitary Intelligence Chief Maj. Gen. Aviv Kochavi on Feb. 2, and former Defense Minister Amos Yadlin on Jan. 26, both said that Iran had passed the point-of-no-Return four or five years ago; and in their view, nothing can stop Iran from building the bomb if they so desired. So Barak's zone of immunity had long passed even though the US State Department is still feigning denial: “[Iran's claims] not terribly new (2003) and not terribly impressive (see IAEA Nov. 8th 2011 report).” So, the 'indigenous' yellow cake announcement is an admission of an endless supply of uranium ore; 3,000 4th generation centrifuges demonstrate an ability to make two bombs per month; and the homemade fuel plates is to convey mastery over the difficult task of molding fissile material into warhead cores!
The US-Israeli are saying, if Iran wants to join the nuclear club without conducting a test, then, they will continue to say that Iran is 1 or 2 years from the bomb. As such, ALL OPTIONS ARE STILL ON THE TABLE. Please note that the 3,000 NEW centrifuges are at Natanz and not Qom – a blatant taunt that there is No VIABLE OPTION in bunker-bombing a nuclear power – I double dare you.
