Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said today in Tehran that Western
sanctions on country’s oil sector are “ridiculous.”
"It's very funny. They (the West) use oil as a political weapon
against a country that is an oil producer itself," Ahmadinejad said.
"This is among the most ridiculous behaviors."
"The ones that need oil use what they need as a tool to pressure
(others)," Ahmadinejad said. "It takes a lot of insolence to be like
that,” he added. He also said sanctions were "political warfare.” (IRNA, 31
July)
Ahmadinejad said Iran needed to concentrate on producing and selling
oil products, instead of selling crude oil.
oil supply is very tight and sensitive
ReplyDelete"Ahmadinejad said Iran needed to concentrate on producing and selling oil products, instead of selling crude oil."
ReplyDeleteIsn't that funny because that is what the Shah said in 1973,forty years ago.
And that is why the government of that time made agreement with Japanese to build one of the worlds biggest petrochemical complex in Iran.It was three quarters complete in 1979 when the imperial government was overthrown with the help of the oil cartel.
Listen to his speech made in 1973.In it he says the renewal of oil contracts made 1979 will be extremely favorable to Iran and Iran will sell more oil based products than just crude oil.
Slowly but surely the truth is coming out of the horses mouth that what a unmitigated disaster 1979 turned out to be for Iran.
Iran barely can refine its oil to produce decent gasoline, so Mahmoud is right about how they need to develop their skills

ReplyDeleteThey should have thought of it before the sanctions, not after the sanctions when that Khamenei says Iran is addicted to oil and Mahmoud says Iran should develop their skills. They are just talking nonsense and covering up their failures.
