Government Criticized for Slow Response
Iran had earlier refused to accept foreign aid for the victims of the 11
August twin quakes of 6.4- and 6.3-magnitudes that have killed more than 300
people, and injuring nearly 5,000. Rahimi’s announcement was a reversal of the
earlier policy.
Meanwhile, there are growing criticism of the Iranian government’s slow response to
the crisis. Majlis speaker Ali Larijani called on the cisis management team to
“take broader steps to alleviate these concerns.”
The daily Asr-e Iran reported that three days after the earthquake,
some villages had not yet been visited by relief teams. The paper quoted residents as
saying that in some of the villages that were destroyed there were still no
tents.
IRNA
reported today that most villages still did not
have electricity or drinking water.
Iranian
bloggers are also criticizing President Ahmadinejad for leaving the country to attend
the Mecca Summit without visiting the earthquake-stricken region.

The mafia-regime is only good at stealing ...
ReplyDeleteThe only "concerns" this fascist Islamic theocracy has is self preservation.
ReplyDeleteIt's to late, your last shot was taken, now just wait for judgment day.
I wonder if this means Iran is officially requesting international support.
ReplyDeleteThe red cross can not accept donations for the Iran earthquake, unless Iran requests international assistance.
This would be the quickest way to get intentional donations into Iran, in case anyone in the regime is serious about helping the people in this tragedy, instead of using the quake victims suffering as a bargaining chip to lift sanctions.

Sorry to disappoint you, but I don't think the judgment day is around the corner. After all, we've been waiting for judgment day for 33 long years.

ReplyDeleteFar from it,you don't disappoint me,because that is precisely the point,33 long years of its shelf life has been used up,so is rotten to its core.
You can fool some of the people some of the time but you can't fool all of the people all the time.
Sorry to say,you will be the one that will be disappointed, when this regime will end up in the dustbin of history.
