The United states ambassador to Libya, Christopher Stevens, and three others were honored by the president and Mrs. Clinton as they arrived from Libya.
According to the NY times, Mr. Obama said the United States would bolster security and work with the Libyans to bring to justice those who killed the Americans. But he said the tragedy should not discourage America from playing a leadership role in the world.
He went on to say “Even in our grief we will be resolute, for we are Americans,” he said. “And we hold our head high knowing that because of these patriots, because of you, this country that we love will always shine as a light unto the world.”
Mrs. Clinton remarked about ambassador Stevens, “What a wonderful gift you gave us,” she told his family. “Over his distinguished career in the Foreign Service, Chris won friends for the United States in far-flung places. He made those people’s hopes his own. During the revolution in Libya, he risked his life to help protect the Libyan people from a tyrant, and he gave his life helping them build a better country.”
Mrs. Clinton went on to say:
“The people of Egypt, Libya, Yemen and Tunisia did not trade the tyranny of a dictator for the tyranny of a mob,”.
“Reasonable people and responsible leaders in these countries need to do everything they can to restore security and hold accountable those behind these violent acts.”
God rest their souls.

ReplyDeleteThey were innocent.
So were all the Libyans NATO killed in their own country..
Take your fake sympathy elsewhere...
Anon 1:11
ReplyDeleteIs it fake sympathy to grieve those lost in a fire setup by a mob claiming to be defending a religion?
How does the accidental killing of libyans by NATO strikes, which were there to help the Libyans in the first place, justify these cowardess killings at the consulate?
There is no excuse for what is morally wrong, not past events, and not edicts by religious leaders who liberally modify religious values when it doesn't suit their political message.
Cut the welfare money to Israel and all this killings will stop within a forthnight.

ReplyDeleteYes,god rest their souls because they were innocent!
What sort of creature are you that questions someones humanity towards their fellow human being?
Those "Libyans" were Qaddafi's troops trying to kill Libyan citizens.
Are you that blinded by hate that you are prepared to worship hate and give a bad reputation to all Iranians?
Really you need to take a long good look at yourself in the mirror and ask why full of hatred.
Obviously staying in London hasn't done you any good.
Thank you Jabbar Fazeli MD,there is hope yet.
@Jabber
ReplyDeleteHow does the accidental killing of libyans by NATO strikes, which were there to help the Libyans in the first place
Not to go off-topic, but I don't believe NATO intervened to help the Libyans. They only went in there to secure Libyan oil. if NATO really genuinely cares about the Libyans, then they would have compensated the relatives of those killed accidentally by NATO bombing, which they haven't done to this day.
@anon 8:13
ReplyDeleteIt is off topic, as usual, but I'll bite.
The local regimes in the middle east have used oil resources to enrich themselves, or to create a spoiled generation with no skills. It's not the west's fault when countries are too stupid to take care of their own resources. It's really getting to be totally unoriginal to bring that up all time.
You can question the motivations of the American intervention all you want, but it did take courage to intervene in bad economic times, and despite the lack of american public support for another intervention in the middle east.
Ambassador Stevens who got killed as a reward for the US help, was a courageous man who hated traveling with heavy securty. He signed his name "Krees", because thats what his Arab friends called him; He didn't deserve to die at the hand of the people he was trying to help, and whom he liked. His death is bad for the Libyans before anyone else.

Sorry.
One thing you can always count on from the Muslims... gotta love the hatred.
ReplyDeleteI think it is more important, than other things, to find out who really prepared that provocation with blasphemous movie.
ReplyDeleteIt would be interesting to find, how it was possible that someone tried implicate jews in that matter.
Or maybe jews tried to implicate somebody in that matter....
Steven Klein, who claims he worked as a consultant on that film and who has known many details, gave interview to Jeffrey Goldberg (a jew) from the Atlantic.
However, it is still unclear (despite a denial) who invented that precise number that 100 jews sponsored financially that movie.
It would be good to know name of that person and why he used that description that they were jews.
Judging from all the video footage you can tell that there is not much love for the US in Islamic countries, as a matter of fact US reputation and image only gets worse. The US should mind its own business and stay out of that hell hole called the Muslim world, there will never be a token of appreciation for what the U.S. has done over there. We should be concentrating on strengthening our friendship with the progressive and civilized part of the world.
ReplyDelete@anon 6:38
ReplyDeleteI think Chris Stevens would disagree with you.
Anon 12:34 AM
ReplyDeleteLikewise, the same can be said for Islamophobes, like you for instance.
Anon 2:47 PM
ReplyDeleteYeah, but the "Islamophobes" have a reason for being what they are.
Due to the backward mentality and primitive fascistic culture of the religion. And then some of the ones that come to the West try to shoehorn that backward culture into mainstream western society.
And by the way,I'm Iranian.
Anon 5:32 PM
ReplyDeleteSo basically, you are an unapologetic Islamophobe which makes you no better than the radical extremists (they do not represent Islam) that espouses hatred.
And always remember, the extremists you see on the news outlet is only a small minority so don't tar the rest of us all with the same brush.
And by the way, I'm Iranian as well.
ReplyDelete@anon 5:32
ReplyDeleteI would invite to consider the following
-every one who hates has a great reason as far as they are concerned.
-be careful what you wish for because once everyone hates every Muslim based on the identity or background then you would among the hated even if you drink wine and smoke cigars. Look at all the attacks against the poor seiks, who can not be further from Islam.
The unfortunate thing about generalized hate is that it loses the ability to distinguish between bad and good! and once hate become kosher against a majority of a group, the it's ok against the entire group, then it becomes OK against those who might be in that group, then everyone who might look like they have the potential to be.
It's a slippery slope; the ideal way to deal with this is going back to individualism. Everyone is responsible for their own actions, no labels and no generalizations.
I am sure you would agree that you an I, despite our heritage, should not have to apologize for what fanatics are doing in our name somewhere in the middle east.
Anon 6:38 AM
ReplyDeletethere will never be a token of appreciation for what the U.S. has done over there.
And what has the US done to warrant appreciation? Care to list some examples?
Anon 7:02 PM 7:37 PM
ReplyDeleteSuch emotional tosh!
The facts are that it's the evil minority of Islamic fascistic minded people that have control of Iran and imposing their will upon the Iranian nation.
I don't like people that come and live in the West from Muslim countries, then try to impose their agenda upon others. The reason why many Iranians are living abroad is to get away from the fascistic culture of Islam that has drowned our society back in Iran.
Quote:"So basically your an unapologetic Islamophobe which makes you no better than radical extremists..etc etc etc....."
Firstly,I'm a Secularist.
Secondly,I don't need to apologize to anyone about that, especially you.
Thirdly,I've been reading your posts and all I see is anti Jewish hatred towards Israel and supporting Assad as well as the Islamic regime in their murderous agenda against the peoples of both lands.
Then you come here and try to play Mr Neutral Nice Guy.Doesn't wash with me I'm afraid.
You,unfortunately are a hypocrite.
Anon 6:38 AM
ReplyDeleteYou're right US should stop doing business with the Muslim world and the US should stop all loans as well as donations to these countries.
Starting with Pakistan which is kept alive by US assistance of over $15 Billion annually.
They should also stop buying their oil and stop all technology transfers and travels between countries.

ReplyDeleteHere is a list of good deeds the US has done over there:
• Illegal invasion of Iraq
• Thousands of Iraqi civilians killed as collateral damage during the so-called “Operation Iraqi Freedom
• The Abu Ghraib scandal
• Illegal night raids in Afghanistan (such acts violate Afghan customs)
• Indiscriminate US bombing of Afghan civilians (e.g. Deh Bala wedding party bombing)
• U.S.'s shameful support of dictatorships in Mideast countries
• U.S.'s filthy promotion of western cultures (i.e. pornography, alcohol, indulgence)
And you (yes, I'm speaking to you, Anon 6:38 AM) have the nerve to say that the Muslim world are not appreciative for all the things the U.S. has done for them?
To hell with you, you arrogant bigot! You should take your anti-Muslim bigotry and shove it where the sun don't shine!
Anon 5:57 PM
ReplyDeleteBy the sound of it you are not Iranian. To much hatred and negativity.
Maybe a Pakistani or Indian Muslim but not Iranian for sure.
Anon 7:24 PM
ReplyDeleteGiven the tone of Anon 6:38 AM's comment (or yours, if you really are Anon 6:38 AM), I don't blame him for being upset at Anon 6:38 AM or you. And he's right in regards to the U.S.'s deeds in the Mideast countries even though I don't consider the U.S. as a villian.
Anon 7:24 PM
ReplyDeleteNice try. For your info, I'm a proud Iranian Muslim and you deserve my contempt due to your arrogant attitude toward the Muslim world.
Anon 8:27 PM
ReplyDeleteJabbar Fazeli MD prevented your previous post from being published. I can only guess you were using very foul language against me. Which explains what sort of characters the Rapist fascist and extremely arrogant dictatorship of cowards is bringing up in their Hojjatieh Society schools.
Your utter contempt towards me is a sure good sign that the truth does hurt.
@anon 9:40
ReplyDeleteTrue true and unrelated.
The libyans were begging for help when the Libyan airfirce and military was pounding the revolutionaries.
No Arab or Islamic country helped. It took the USA and France to finally do something.
This is one of the few times in history were the main reason for the urgent intervention, despite the regime in Libya still being viable, was to help the people before any other considerations..The Libyans know that, even if you chose to ignore that fact.
If Muslims and Arabs had the backbone to respond to the atrocities in Libya they would have been no need for the west to intervene.
It's ok to blame the US for Iraq etc, but blaming it for the good it did in Libya is utterly unfair and dishonorable.
