Taken to Evin Prison
Iranian
authorities took Faezeh Hashemi, a former member of Majlis and daughter of
Ayatollah Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani, to prison Saturday on charges of “spreading
anti-state propaganda.”
Ms.
Hashemi was convicted in January and sentenced to six-month jail for an
interview she gave to an opposition news website in which she criticized human
rights violations in Iran. She was taken to the notorious Evin prison at 11:00
p.m. on Saturday.
Faezeh represented Tehran in Majlis between 1996 and 2000 and
founded the popular women’s magazine Zan. Her father is one of the
founders of the Islamic Republic and has served two terms as Iran’s president.

the most important violation of human right is if my dad is no mere president.
ReplyDeleteI don't know about her; but the fact, that regime is always sending its thugs, basiji and Chaghu-kesh to very place (like Universities) where Iranian people want to express themselves freely is the real expression of their fascism and these ridiculous stunts are part of that very movement ...
ReplyDeleteClumpolSeems so that all people are equal before the law in Iran.

ReplyDeletewho is this cretin that would shrug of a nakedly threatening imprisonment of a woman as if it were a jest?
ReplyDelete-- "ClumpolSeems so that all people are equal before the law in Iran.:---
another tasteless joke but is truthful to the extent that the "law' in Iran is equally applied to imprison anyone challenging the dictatorships political control.....and the families of those people can also expect imprisonment under the theocrats "law"
Farhad,
