Tehran’s foreign currency exchange shops have halted the sale of
the dollar, Mehr News Agency reported on Monday. Under pressure from the
government, the exchange shops were to sell the dollar at 28,500 rials, well
below the 35,500 rate traded prior to last Wednesday’s disturbances and the
closure of Tehran Grand Bazaar.
