IRGC-N claims capture of U.S. ScanEagle UAV

From the Associated Press:
Iran's state TV said Tuesday that the country's Revolutionary Guard has captured a U.S. drone after it entered Iranian airspace over the Persian Gulf. The report quoted the Guard's navy chief, Gen. Ali Fadavi, as saying that the Iranian forces caught the "intruding" drone, which had apparently taken off from a U.S. aircraft carrier. Fadavi said the unmanned Scan Eagle aircraft was now in Iran's possession.
"The U.S. drone, which was conducting a reconnaissance flight and gathering data over the Persian Gulf in the past few days, was captured by the Guard's navy air defense unit as soon as it entered Iranian airspace," Fadavi said. "Such drones usually take off from large warships."
Al-Alam, the state TV's Arabic-language channel, showed two Guard commanders examining what appeared to be an intact Scan Eagle drone.
Iran's military has been active of late in defending its airspace from American launched surveillance drones. Last year an RQ-170 Sentinel drone was successfully brought down, and more recently the IRGC-AF has offered hot pursuit and fire against intrusion by a USAF Predator drone. Highlighting this more vigilant posture, last month's Defenders of Velayat Skies IV exercise publicized an IRIADF practice shootdown of an Iranian launched target drone.

A job well done. Iranian brilliance and foresight is being underestimated time and time again. Another tremendous victory of utmost importance for the nation of Iran. The "War Hawks" in the US must be grieving badly everytime a high-tech toy of theirs get ripped from their grasp.

Bringing it down unharmed is very impressive, but even more so is detecting it in the first place! If they can detect a tiny 6 foot UAV in the middle of an ocean they have some mighty good radars and whatever other sensors they use. That means a big warplane or bomber must show up the size of a mountain on their sensors!

Ha ha ha, this is amazing! US is indeed jinxed! On the exact same date as the capture of the RQ-170 Sentinel precisely a year ago! LOL.

Such a retarded comment. The US uses drones because they are expendable.

I doubt if it has any "tremendous" or "utmost importance" for the nation of Iran.

The nation of Iran is to busy trying to eek a living from the crumbs that are left over after the dirty theocracy has lined their pockets.

But obviously you're not an Iranian .

Ha ha, you sound so dull and butthurt.

Sure the US can manufacture more of these, dullard. The point is that Iran has now gained something extraordinarily useful ... special technology/knowledge/information which it wouldn't have been granted under normal circumstances.

Not only are you in denial of factual reality, but you are a yankee dolt as well, what a surprising combination! NOT! :)

If I'm a Yankee then you must be a Hillbilly that is stuck in the hills of Nebraska.
That extraordinary technology is as extraordinary as a hillbilly carrying a musket rifle whilst coon hunting.
What a burk!

Here is some real news about Iranian achievements and humanity. Perhaps this blog should sometimes post some FACTS too instead of worn-out anti-Iran propaganda nonsense:

Iranian medicines save US lives

Iranian medicine has been saving the lives of Americans while the illegal US-led sanctions against the Islamic Republic have been adversely affecting the lives of many Iranian patients.

A Sunday report on the website of the Wall Street Journal said the US Defense Department needs Iranian-researched and -produced medicine to treat the foreign forces in Afghanistan who get bitten by “Oxus cobras, Haly’s pit vipers” and other snakes peculiar to southwest Asia.

“Medical guidance issued by US Central Command says drugs made by Iran’s Razi Vaccine & Serum Research Institute ‘should be the first line of antivenin therapy,’” the report cited a US officer as saying.

“The Iranian antivenin is the best,” said Colonel Rob Russell, the medical director of the pharmacy at British-run Camp Bastion hospital, adjacent to the Camp Leatherneck US Marine base in southern Afghanistan.

The report highlighted the fact that the antivenins produced in the US and approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) “won’t work on Afghan snake bites.”

This comes as the US-engineered sanctions are putting the lives of Iranian patients in jeopardy.

Though the US has not imposed any bans on American firms to sell medicine and medical supplies to Iran, exporters have been required to apply for special licenses. In the wake of the sanctions, the impossibility of transferring money through banks has cast its cumbersome shadow upon medicine and healthcare in Iran, thereby jeopardizing the lives of millions of patients suffering from special diseases such as thalassemia, hemophilia, hepatitis, multiple sclerosis, diabetes, and many others.

Iranian medicine saves American lives? Press TV has struck again in making another sensational title. The antivenin the US is buying from Iran hasn't saved American lives in it's whole operational history. The drug has been used 4 times by the Americans in Afghanistan, and in all cases, it was used on Afghans who were bitten by snakes.

Obvious purpose of this blog is to educate wandering internet folks in a western propaganda's way and seducing or duping them with the authentical Iranian photos, which are meant to support their hypocrisy and anti Iranian rhetoric.

They also hope that some disgruntled people of Iranian ancestry will disclose some classified information on this blogs...

The evidence supporting my views include their (blog) subscription to Zionist links...
