Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad today told Majlis, the Iranian
parliament, that Iran must move away from dependence on oil revenue to overcome
Western sanctions. Ahmadinejad also told parliamentarians that “structural
changes” in Iran’s industries and exports are needed to overcome the effects of
sanctions.
"We need to cut reliance on petrodollars in the government's spending budget," Ahmadinejad told lawmakers. “We have to finish this once and for all." (Mehr News Agency/AP, 16 January)

Instead of oil revenues, Ahmadinejad said other natural
resources such as mines and wood should be used to generate income.
Meanwhile, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei today said sanctions
will not succeed.
“The arrogance front (US and its allies) have employed all their might to force the Iranian nation through sanctions and pressures to surrender. But this nation will tolerate the hardships because it has recognized enemy plans, tactics and strategy,” Khamenei said. (IRIB/AP, 16 January)

Please do not de-forest the north of Iran. Leave whatever small amount of nature that was gifted to Iran alone, leave it be. I hope that this proposal doesn't get accepted in its entirety. Look to the mountains for resources.
ReplyDeletethere's no real alternative way for Iran to replace the oil income within a decade other than selling off Iranian women to Arabs and using the resultant camels, sheep and goats for food while Iran is planted over with poppies to be Iran's new cash crop.
ReplyDelete(and no, I'm not serious)but there is not any real alternative
These people are imbeciles!
ReplyDeleteThey will destroy the remaining forests and rape the land of its resources to give away to the greedy Chinese!
Down with this parasitical dirty rapist regime!
How sad things have become. What makes these people think that by selling non oil products the world wont put an embargo on those products as well.
ReplyDeleteIt truly saddens me when I see the type of people that are running our country, who care less for Iran:(
Ha Ha Ha! TAVELEH!
ReplyDeleteIt doesn't matter...they'll just sanction wood exports. So the trees will be safe after all.
