Barack Hussein Obama renewed his oath of office to serve another tem as
the President of the United States of America. This was the 57th
inauguration ceremony in 224 years of American history when the presidents are
sworn in the most orderly and peaceful transition of power in
history. Hundreds of thousands took part in the ceremony on the steps of
Congress.
In his inaugural address, Obama offered a broad progressive agenda for
the nation, setting goal to ensure equality for all. Internationally, he
declared an end to a decade of wars and called for engagement.
“We will show the courage to try and resolve our differences with
other nations peacefully… not because we are naive about the dangers we face,
but because engagement can more durably lift suspicion and fear,” Obama said.
