Ahmadinejad Returns to Tehran

Greeted by Chanting Supporters - Revealing Growing Fission in Leadership
Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, accompanied by his senior advisor Esfandiar Rahim Mashaie, returned from his visit to Egypt. Upon their arrival at Tehran’s Mehrabad Airport, scores of supporters greeted them, chanting and carrying placards in support of their current president and presumably their choice for the future president.

Among the placards carried by supporters of Ahmadinejad/Mashaie, shown above, were some with combative slogans and photos:
- One placard, top photo, shows Ahmadinejad and Khamenei side-by-side with Mashaie photo at the center.
- The placard carried by a group of women says: “Evangelist of Spring.” (This could be referring to the coming election scheduled in spring, and to a new day in spring)
- The placard carried by the group surrounding Ahmadinejad’s car: “Justice Doesn’t Know Family” (referring to Ahmadinejad’s accusation of corruption against Larijani family, including two brothers that head the country’s Judiciary and Majlis)
- A placard written in English comparing Ahmadinejad to Robin Hood

Mehr News Agency reports that the supporters started chanting pro-Ahmadinejad and Mashaie slogans:
“Long Live Ahmadinejad; Long Live Mashaie”
“Artillery, Tanks, Insults Have No Effects Anymore” (they don’t frighten us)
“Left, Right, Kargozar (Rafsanjani’s faction), All Against Servant of the People”
“We Are Not Iranians If We Leave Mahmoud (Ahmadinejad) Alone”
“Abalfazl, Keep Mashaie Safe” (Praying to a revered imam to keep Mashaie safe)

The chants and the placards carried as shown above clearly show that Ahmadinejad’s supporters will be staying with him during the tumultuous days leading to the presidential election in June.

Ahmadinejad, defying the supreme leader, Ayatollah Khamenei, challenged the Larijani brothers, who include the heads of Judiciary and the parliament, on the floor of Majlis, accusing them of corruption. In turn, S. Larijani, the powerful head of the Judiciary, openly threatened Ahmadinejad, saying he will not act against his “illegal” behavior in Majlis “for now” only because of Khamenei’s order to restrain from hostilities among senior officials.

The supporters were also showing their preference for Mashaie to become the future president. Mashaie is seen in a photo speaking to the crowd of supporters at the airport as if the election campaign has already started.

  2. Does he want to rebel against Khamenei? That his only chance because otherwise they wont let him or Mashaei to participate in election - especially now where Khamenei has got no nuclear deal and is not able to offer anything to general public ...

At least Blair Bush and Sarkozy didn't imprison, rape, torture and murder their own people like Khamenei and Ahmadinejad has done against the Iranian nation.
Funny thing is people like yourself are living in the West and at the same time curse the place that shelters you. People like you in Iran are called besharaf and are true hypocrites and minions of the velayat dozdon va adam koshon.

  4. If they don't do something by the election, Ahmadinejad and Mashaie will find themselves on the wrong end of a firing squad. Its amazing that they have not been disposed of as yet. They may have some really dirty inside information on their rivals to have lasted this long. But time is running out, the pressure is building, and something or someone has got to give way...
