Iran’s military spokesman Brig. Gen. Masoud Jazayeri said on Saturday
military commanders have been given the authority to respond immediately to
enemy attacks. Gen. Jazayeri did not elaborate, leaving it unclear if Iranian
leaders believe that an attack is imminent. His comments were posted today on
IRGC’s website, sepahnews.

Does he mean an attack by the Iranian people ?
ReplyDeleteWe've known since 2007 the Iranians will not surrender and will stand up to a US/Israeli attack. That was when Cheney was advocating in the stringest terms for a strike. The Iranians didn't blink.
ReplyDeleteIran's military has a counterattack plan in place, which is likely flexible in scale and duration. But the overall strategy isn't hard to deduce: they'll impact the global economy and we'll unfortunately feel it here in the United States.
It is ultimately IRAN's right in term of 'defensive', just like any other nation in the world when it comes to defending its sovereignty from any foreign intrusion. Everyone knows this.
ReplyDeletemat,
DeleteThe question is not about defending the country. It is, Why was this order to authorize the field commanders issued now? Why not last month, or last year, etc. (Defending the country was also the goal then). Do the Iranians really believe that an imminent attack on Iran is probable? Or could this "order" is just another not-so-much coherent pronouncement by a military spokesman?
