Syrian Rebels Shot Down Iranian Plane - Report

Al-Arabiya reported Thursday morning that the Syrian Free Army has shot down an Iranian cargo plane over Damascus Airport. The plane managed to land but burst into flames upon landing. Large parts of the airport were reported to be on fire, including the main arrivals hall. The report said the plane was en route from Iran and was loaded with weapons for the Syrian military.

Al-Arabiya said the Syrian Free Army rebels used anti-aircraft missiles to shoot the plane down. Iran has not commented on the report, and the Syrian Free Army's claim has not been independently verified.

Damascus has been the scene of a fierce fighting between rebels and government troops in recent days. Al Arabiya has shown numerous videos of the fighting. At least 118 people were killed on Wednesday.

"Al-Arabiya said the rebels said" wrong type of journalism.

Al Arabia is the Saudi equivalent of Press TV, both are known for their nonsense reporting, why do you think they have used a 3D animation to portray the plane rather than a real picture or actual footage?

If it is true, it must have been done, absolutely, by consent, by the world's Zionist of the U.S.-sponsored terrorism of the Syrian Free Army and perhaps, Israel too, is believed to get involved.

This is all a big zionist lie. None of Iran's aircraft have ever been shot down since the Inman's stealth cloak has been cast over these aircraft.

Absolute NONSENSE. The "plane" in the photo is from a video game and Al-Arabia is a bit more retarded than Debka. This is beyond A JOKE.

True. The image is clearly a fake and an illustration. It does not even look like a photo.

Al Arabiya appears no longer to use that obvious computer rendered illustration, which is not a "photo". There's a very grainy video now being used but it's impossible to discern other than a sheet of flame striking a large aircraft at a distance. Aircraft appears descending, on final. There is no video of the other claims.

In addition to Iran not commenting, no other news outlet has yet commented, either.

Waiting for confirmation on this.

Does the Imam have the other two Deathly Hallows as well?

---- " The video and the rebel claim could not be immediately verified independently because the Syrian government restricts the access of outside journalists to conflict zones."-----

who is going to confirm the story? SANA?

police states such as Assad's Syria control the press to control the news and to prevent verification of stories not to the regime's liking.

was any independent journalist ever able to conduct an interview with Iran's alleged space monkey to confirm that the monkey actually said that he had gone into space?

Police states such as "NDAA" America control the mainstream media to prevent verification of stories not to the regime's liking.

Who is going to confirm this alleged news? The American government and its wahabi/al nusra rat friends fighting in Syria? The same Al-Arabiya that sent out a fake image to go with the story?

How about your favorite state-run Syrian media?

@ Anon 10:12 --- I assume that you're trying to be amusing rather than sufficiently ignorant to seriously suggesting that the US mainstream media is controlled by anybody.

Obviously the "picture" was meant to be nothing more than an illustration, unlike Iran's attempt to make the world believe that they had developed a stealth fighter (truly one of the most comical things a repressive regime has ever done...they make me laugh).
What is occurring in Syria is both inspiring and tragic. It is inspiring to watch brave people stand up against Assad's tyrannical regime and fight for their freedom...yet tragic in its great loss of life. The responsibility for 80,000 dead lands squarely in Assad's lap and those that support him.

ffjbentson, are you first time comer ?.
Where have you been so far ?

Where has ffjbentson been so far? In denial, that's where. In denial of the wahabi/al nusra savages from abroad, being imported to attack syria, terrorise its people and force children to fight in adult conflicts, including forcing children to behead adults and posting a video of it on the internet, to boast.
