The first day of talks between Iran and the six world powers
ended in Almaty, with the two sides reportedly “long way apart on substance,”
the Guardian reported.
Iran reportedly did not respond directly to the offer by P5+1 made in Almaty last February and instead put forward a rework of its proposal offered during talks in Moscow last year that ended in stalemate.

“We had a substantial exchange but there is a wide gulf between the parties. We are considering how to proceed from here. We are expecting the talks to continue tomorrow morning but we are still a long way from agreement,” a source told the Guardian. (The Guardian, 5 April)
The talks will continue for a second day on Saturday.

What signal is Khamenei sending ? I do not care if Iran is destroyed? Well, then how does he distinguish his policy in reality from those who he is calling 'enemy' ? Nothing . He is now a useful idiot in the hand of the US-policy; USA simply does not give Khamenei what he wants and Khamenei manage the ruin of Iran for the purpose of USA in return
Bending Over is not necessarily a useful move either, Need to have a balance of not bending over and not going too extreme... Does this regime have the political know how and talents? well, I bet on Iranians as they have few thousand years of good diplomacy to use as experience.
Oh what a surprise!
Make no mistake about todays event; today marks the end of Islamic republic, which is by the way a good thing; USA has taken over; Iran is in now a US-colony: that must not be a bad thing by default - we have to wait and see. I withdraw my words about Khamenei; he is not an idiot after all; he has mad the right choice: he has accepted the sanctions-regime of USA; in reality we had no other choice; the problem is that we have no economic freedom anymore; now we must hope that USA is a more construtive power than we usually fear ...
sanctions are not actually bad and helps Iran to reform its economy. US has no choice to accept Iran as a major regional power.

As usual the west wants surrender and in return offers only a few crumbs. The only deal that is going is iran voluntarily limiting enrichment to 3.5% and adopting the additional protocol and in return the west lifts all sanctions, that is the only deal and once again the west cannot say yes
The Guardian is an unreliable source for Iran reporting, having adopted a former PBS effort Tehran Bureau which was recently let go by PBS presumably for unreliable, biased reporting.
Nothing new here folks. The US/Zionists scum have no interest in "successful talks" or easing of any sanctions. This has nothing to do with Iran's "nuclear issue" but a delusional US and Zionist failing attempt at maintaining global hegemony. Iran should just test a nuke and get on with it. READ MY LIPS AGAIN & AGAIN: These farcical talks are a smokescreen and will never achieve anything. Learn from Brother Kim and the DPRK. The US/Zionist hyenas only understand force and resolute stance.
