Today Iran celebrated the National Artesh (military) Day. During the
annual parade in Tehran, the Artesh unveiled a new version of its Mersad Air
Defense System, Mersad 2, as well as drones named Hazem 3 and Ya Zahra 3.
The Mersad is a mid-range system capable of hitting airplanes in
low and mid altitudes, comprised of target tracing and tracking radars, soft
and hardware networks, launch pads for missiles and a command and control
center.
The drones are long-range aircraft designed for targeting and
reconnaissance operations and carrying cargo, said Brig. Gen. Farzad Esmaili,
commander of Khatam al-Anbiya Air Defense Base. (Fars News Agency, 18 April)
Also on display in today’s parade were Fakour and Qader air-to-surface
missiles; Shahab, Thamen and Matla' al-Faj radar systems; Nazeat 60 and Nazeat
M10 missile launching system; as well as Zelzal and Qased missiles.
Interestingly enough for the first time 'Iran ey sarayeh omid' and 'Ey Iran' were played during the parade.
ReplyDeleteThis regime isn't well known for being pro-nationalist, rather pro-islamist. Might have something to do with Mashaei
They sang "Ey Islam" not "Ey Iran"
ReplyDeleteAnd if they did sing those songs doesn't mean
they're nationalist but opportunists in the art
of tricking the people into believing they are.
Besides what has Mashaei got to do with IRI parade?
Great day for Iran and its proud armed forces.
ReplyDeleteThe marking of the 34 long wasting years of the U.S.'s 'hollow barking' and Israel's 'beating the empty drums of war' against a new superpower of the whole region of the Middle East, the great nation of the Islamic Republc of IRAN.
