Russia’s Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov, President Vladimir Putin’s special envoy for
the Middle East, arrived in Tehran on Wednesday to discuss developments in
Syria with Iranian officials.
Iran’s Ambassador to Moscow Reza Sajjadi had said earlier today that the Syrian crisis will top the agenda of Bogdanov’s visit. (IRNA, 24 April)

It is really good to see Iran-Russian strategic dialogue and consensus. Russia is a as big a target of alCIAda fanned Salafi terror in the Caucasus as Iran. With the US/Zionists and NATO arming the Salafi cutthroats in Syria, Russia is indeed concerned, but is now heartened by the superb performance of the Syrian military and resilience of President Assad. Russia needs to strengthen both Iran and Syria against the Wahabbi-Salafi terrorists and their backers. A good signal of Russian resolve and strategic engagement would be to supply modern weaponry to both Iran and Syria as the US is pumping billions of dollars worth of arms into its moth-ridden Arab stooges in Saudi Arabia and the Persian Gulf pimpdoms.
Russia gave Irani steel, as others monopolized it, today Iran is one of the biggest producers
Russia gave Iran Atom as the others monopolized it and today Iran has mastered the cycle
Sure they took Azarbayjan and Georgian !!!! but that was due to the Monarchy of those days.(Thank God no more handkissing on their kness living Royalists around anymore)
Russia is a self centered bastard at heart,... (who isn't) but the lesser evil of the bunch and Iran has certainly learned to play the game of thrones
Russia has to be kept on a leash on Syria, because Syria should not fall and it must not fall (otherwise a massive ethnic cleansing shall take place worse than the Balkans. The foreign influx of fanatic savages has to be flushed away, or buried right there !)
Afterall, it is in Irans interest.
Azari by fortune and Iranian by Grace of God.

Anon 3:45...Read history boy.It was the mullahs that persuaded the then corrupt Qajar dynasty to attack Tzarist forces to regain lost land. Then after Iran losing that war the backstabbing mullahs responsible ran to Russia for protection..The mullahs are the biggest greedy traitors in Iran's history.
As for hand kissing then look no further than hand kissing the hand of Agha the mullah that used to go and sing Rozeh for five Tomans.
Newsflash! Assad is screwed because he has crossed the red line as regards the use of chemical weapons.NATO must take action to remove this terrorist lapdog of the Islamic regime.
and a head akin to turnip greens.
Oh yeah, and replace him with Zionist lapdogs? LOL. Get a grip dude.
Russia has been waiting for a delivery of large assauult warships (each of them can carry 16 heavy choppers, 4 barges and dozens of tanks or APCs) , which they bought in France... At times, France threatened to cancel that contract...
Before any consideration of attack against Iran, the West will try to remove Assad and make the Syrian air space accessible to the IAF.
The chemical weapons' pretext is a good one for them to plan intrussion or other forms of invasion.
However Russia has new, - the best in years, military leadership after last winter changes, that included defense minister and armed forces' chief of staff.
These two individuals know where the danger for Russia exist.

Well said!
Assad and the Islamic regime are screwed.
Putin has to put up or shut up!
Yeah. You have been saying this rubbish for how many years now? Wait, how many decades, I correct myself.
And replace him with a Salafi or a Wahabi? Would you be happier that way? I thought only Qatar and the Saudis would want that to happen. Didn't know hopeless imperialism apologists want that too.
Only four months.Wait and see,it's just a matter of time now.
Syria is a last call for Russia..
Loosing Iran under the Western military influence, would mean a begining for Russia's demise.

Most western observers now describe the FSA terrorists on the receiving end of a very professional Syrian army. This is the primary reason the US and its stooges have raised the chemical use bogeyman again as the Zionist trained Salafi terrorists are on the run.
On Wednesday Syrian tanks and soldiers overran a strategic town east of Damascus that for months has served as a critical supply route for arms funneled from Jordan.
“The disaster has struck, the army entered Otaiba. The regime has managed to turn off the weapons tap,” a fighter from the town told Reuters via Skype.
An assortment of al-Nusra Salafis and foreign fighters were routed at the crossroads of Otaiba after more than five weeks of fighting, during which they accused the government of using chemical weapons against them on March 19 and April 9. The Syrian military displayed warehouses of captured western weapons and bodies of dozens of fighters some with foreign documents.
While President Assad's increasingly confident forces has bombed rebel-held areas since July, AFP reports that the regime is now focused on taking back key roads near cities and preventing rebel fighters from pushing closer to Damascus.
That plan has been bolstered by support from Syrian allies, in the form of weapons and guerrilla tactics training from Iran, continued military and financial support from Russia, and an influx of battle hardened Hezbollah fighters whose fearless tactics terrify their opponents.
“Now the operations are well-planned and the objectives are precise,” Rami Abdel, director of the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, told AFP. “This is because battle hardened and experienced Iranian officers are on the ground, leading operations, while new Iranian weapons conceived for this kind of battle are flowing in.”
Otaiba is pivotal as it serves a gateway from Syria’s south into the eastern rural suburbs of Damascus known as al-Ghouta.
“Now all the villages will start falling one after another, the battle in Eastern Ghouta will be a war of attrition,” a rebel fighter in the area told Reuters via Skype.
Assad’s previous strategy shift, to rely on air superiority and wait for the opposition to fracture, continues as towns are bombed and distress calls from rebels in Otaiba go unanswered by rival rebel units.
“To all mujahedeen (holy warriors): If Otaiba falls, the whole of Eastern Ghouta will fall … please come and help,” part of the desperate message sent to FSA fighters said as Syrian helicopter gunships hovered above and jets roared launching precise airstrikes and ground units backed by armour moved in.
Oh yeah, just 4 more months multiplied by 400 years, and then Iran will have de nukes in just 4 more days, 4 months, 4 years, four hundred years and followed by hysterical laughter all around. Me thinks you hasbara cretins are beyond a JOKE!
I think that the solutions for a win, depends on Assad's ability to seal, at least borders with Jordan and Lebanon, because the sealing of borders with Turkey and Iraq is a distant possibility at this time.
Border with Turkey will be a sore point for longer time...
A conscription of Syrian citizens may create help for the Syrian Army in its control of border areas.

Thanks for the effort !-thanks indeed!! your summury of the reports in Syria is astounding .may the Almighty reward you!!.
In the end the "JOKE" will be on little gits like you.
A-F have you forgotten the greater amount of Syrian citizens are the ones fighting Assad's forces :o)
Not true. Over 90% of the so-called FSA are Chechens, Afghans, Pakis, Yemenis and Maghreb braindead Salafis. Even the European media acknowledge that over 1000 European recruited thugs along with Australian, Canadian and US sent Salafi agents are involved.
@ A-F
The Syrian military as shown by their unit cohesion, tenacity and leadership is the finest in the Arab world and has ample reserves with a total population of over 24 million, Syria is not short of manpower as their strategic reserves number over 500,000 trained men and over 4000 tanks. In the total population, support for Assad runs at 100% Alevi, Christians, Kurds and Druze, while amongst the 12 million Sunni clans of urban areas and eastern and southern Syrian plains it remains at 70% as Syria is a secular and tolerant nation and most educated Syrians detest the US supported alCIAda Salafi rapists and murderers.
Most of the FSA is composed of foreign mercenaries and hence their poor performance. The Salafi war crimes of mass rape, looting and summary beheadings of civilians has also turned the population against them. Never underestimate the resolve of the Syrian military. I witnessed their pink-panthers (special forces named due to the pinkish soil hue in their camouflage uniforms)in the Lebanon and these guys were tough, disciplined, well motivated and superb in tactics. Even the Zionists feared them and their ambushes with Kornet and HOT missiles, operating in small mobile hunter-killer teams they took out or captured many Zionist tanks even Merkavas which are displayed at the war museum in Damascus. Their capture of Zionist positions by heli-assault on Mount Hermon is a classic that is taught in all Special Forces academies. So just discount the western-Zionist propaganda, the Syrian government with or without Assad is not about to fall.
