U.S. and 40 other allied navies gathered in Bahrain
today to begin massive anti-mine exercises in the Persian
Gulf. The International Mine Countermeasure Exercise (IMCMEX) will run
through 30 May. The drills appear to be tailored to keep the shipping lanes at
the Strait of Hormuz open in case of any future hostilities involving Iran.
A U.S. Navy statement released today said the IMCMEX will begin with onshore training and then move to the Gulf for maneuvers including mine-sweeping and search-and-seizure operations.
“We are very pleased to see that more than 40 nations have joined us here to take part in this opportunity to enhance international naval capability to preserve freedom of navigation in international waterways,” said Vice Admiral John W. Miller, commander of US Naval Forces Central Command and U.S. Fifth Fleet. “If 41 nations are willing to come here and practice MCM, just imagine how effective the global mine response would be if someone actually put mines in the water.” (Xinhua, 6 May)

Iranian mullahs should quit barking hollow threats and shut the hell up as Iran would not last 2 minutes against the superior US or even Zionist technology. The results from Syria are really very eye-opening for any one with military background and analysis capability. The impunity with which the Zionist airforce which is much smaller than the US forces destroyed Syrian targets, Iranian military infrastructure can literally be obliterated in 2 days of targeted air campaign since Iran does not even possess a medium range SAM system like the Pantsir S1 which the Syrians obviously do not know how to turn on. Iranian HAWKS and SA-2 are over 50 years old and could not bring down a kite/ let alone US ECM, ELINT and GROWLER systems. Iraqis had a much better integrated SAM systems including top of the line Euro systems like ROLAND and CROTALE but still were wiped out by HARM missiles without firing a shot. Iranian crews will not even see the light of day before they are sacrificed for the mullah scum. Iran needs to quit this nonsense and exit the Arab world while it still can. Let the Arabs kill each other.
ReplyDeleteDo they pay you to write this, the israelis attacked from inside lebanon using stand off weapons beyond the range of syrian systems like pantsir, anyone who doubts syrian air defences should ask the turks, assads problem was that he did not retaliate against israel for its previous attacks,it does no good to have the second largest missile arsenal in the region if you arent going to use it.I think you`ll find that the only thing that irans sa2 and hawks have in common with their 50 year old counterparts is their external appearance, internally everything as been replaced or upgraded. The iraqi ids system was a french based one that dated back to the late 70s there is no comparison between that and irans far more modern iads, iran operates crotale and captured iraqi rolands, iran has far better radars and countermeasures than the old iraqi system, but irans best capabilities are its ability to deter and thats what its missile forces and its ability to close the straits of hormuz gives it ie attack me and you will pay a high price
DeleteIran is too huge to be conquered by those who cannot defeat the primitively equipped Taliban fighters...
DeleteSyria has gained the best knowledge where were its weakest points and how it happened. Even the Zionists are not sure what really went wrong on the Syrian side.
The results from Syria will cause and bring improvements...and Iran will gain from those experiences too.
It is obvious that the Zionists used all their tricks to protect themselves and now those trick will be properly analyzed and utilized by others.
It will take a time for Zionists as well as to the West to invent their new tricks and present tricks will be already known for Iran and others.

-"Iran needs to quit this nonsense and exit the Arab world while it still can!-GOOD COUNSEL ! now thedifficult part of your argument is-
Delete@-WILL THE global arrogance led by your beacon of democracy leave the IRANIAN nation alone TO BREATH FREELY after THAT?.
- "The impunity with which tyhe Zionist airforce which is smaller than the US forces destroyed Syrian Syrian targets!.."-
@-Brother! what is feard on the part of IRAN is the RESPONSE!.and what is not feard on the part of SYRIA is the lack of it!!.

DeleteYes, I am getting paid in camel cart-load full of Zionist blood soaked shekels for the hasbara ranting brigade and then rushing to the nearest Zionist bank, but what is your excuse for posting retarded crappola about Iran's first world war military "technology"? The fact is the mullahs are only capable of waging a war by the mouthful and not much else and their bluff has been called in Syria and Lebanon. The brazen Zionist strike at the Damascus ammo dump killed dozens of Iranians as well as not a squeak out of the cowardly mullahs!
No wonder their Iraqi errand boy Salehi is scampering from Jordan like a scolded child. Just wait and see how these opportunist self-serving turbaned bandits cut a deal with US and Russia to jettison Assad and then eventual dismemberment of Hezbollah. The arch-idiot Khomeini did the same in 1989 after sacrificing a million Iranians and then drinking from the poisoned chalice just to survive. Iranians need to really wake-up and see the absurdity of the mullah dictatorship and the daily humiliation of Iran on the world scene. The shah must be rolling in his grave with anguish to see how low Iran has sunk from the strongest power in the region to now Jordan's whipping boy.
The gathering of the 41 allied navies led by the U.S. in the massive anti-mine exercises in the Persian Gulf clearly shows that the great nation of the Islamic Republic of IRAN, militarily, is simply too strong to deal or mess with, or to be taken out which is far from reaching. Is that what is called the world's strongest superpower of the cowardly U.S.?
ReplyDeleteMat you are a nice guy and mean well but don't get carried away. Some of us old veterans have been around a long-time and have seen Iran at its best. There is no question that Iranians are brave, nationalistic and smart people but US technology (also given to Zionists) is far superior and simply can not be matched in the air, land or sea. Iran's only hope of survival is to go nuclear and extricate itself from the treacherous Arabs who will keep on killing each other. It was barely 30 years ago that Iran faced the combined Arab world (with the exception of lukewarm Syria)in a wasteful war that sacrificed a million Iranian youth, the cream of Iran for the crazy mullah Khomeini's shallow and cowardly ego.
DeleteIran could have ended the war on a high-note in 1982 with barely 60,000 casualties but the bastards Khomeini and Rafsanjani played politics with Iranian lives to consolidate their rule and perpetuated this bloodlust to no end. Iranians, particularly the Persians, are civilized and industrious Caucasian-European people by and large and deserve better than be dragged into the abyss by these Akhoond scum and their Arab underlings. I hope better sense than wishful thinking prevails and Iran is not set-up for a very destructive and suicidal war.

Delete-'mat you are a nice guy and mean well...
@-you have seen IRAN at its best?-when is that?-are saying that the MILITARY was run down by the Islamic establishment ?.wont you learn that the Islamic establishment is credited for making the Nation to have something indigenous in its arsenal .and it is this something 'indigenous 'that makes the Nation feared by the west otherwise the west wont fear any country brimming with 'high tech tools'supplied by them.
@-i think you are a bastard! suffering from inferiority complex given your blunt wish for something European!.-THE CHOICE OF THE Islamic establishment was a voice of the masses! and when the same masses wish to divorce the government and religion, then no force will stop that!-
@-JUST WHO ARE THESE Arab underlings that could drug the Nation into some abyss?
Your rant is that of a confused braindead cabron. Iran had the most advanced military till 1979 and then your idiotic mullahs destroyed Iran brick by brick. Iran is not even feared by Kenya or Sri Lanka today let alone world powers. It is this moronic Islamic propaganda that has kept your kind and your Bedouin overlords in the 7th century and killing each other. Get your head out of the proverbial once in a while. The head mullah scum bag Khomeini is directly responsible for the death of million of Iranians and the utter destruction of Iranian military as a modern force. Now its is all bluff and bombast as even a moron could see how the Zionists and even puny Jordan is humiliating Iran.
DeleteVery impressive looking, tho` how you are supposed to hunt for mines when someone is shooting cruise and ballistic antiship missiles at you from close range is another thing entirely, throw in the iranian submarine and FAC forces and things could get very messy for the deminers,I wouldnt want to be a crewman on any of those ships
ReplyDeletewhat drugs are you on the guy up stairs must be good delusional stuff
ReplyDelete40 navies alongside the USN which alone could easily destroy the entirety of Iran's navy in a couple of days.
ReplyDeleteAnonymous May 7, 2013 at 6:05 PM
ReplyDeleteOut in the open ocean sure, but in the confined waters of the straits backed up by land based weapons, lets just say I wouldn`t want to be on those ships. The very fact that they`re putting on a show like this shows just how seriously they take iran and they would be fools not to
no, kid. the USN alone can destroy Iran's navy while it's hugging the coastline or even in port. land-based weapons won't be able to protect either the ships or the ports.
Deletepride in Iran is fine, but the reality is that Iran simply can't defend itself against the type of advanced attack that could be unleashed from a distance far beyond the range of Iranian defensive weaponry.
it wouldn't be anything like an even fight. Iran might damage a US ship or two, might even sink one and it might destroy a couple of USN aircraft..... but ALL of the Iranian military would be broken.
And in return the iranian missile forces will be laying waste to any and all us military infrastructure in the region, for example:
Deleteal-Minhad air base in Dubai, UAE
– Fifth Fleet HQ – Bahrain
– Kuwait, three bases, 15,000 US troops,, including a couple of brigade combat teams and a combat aviation brigade.
– Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar, forward HQ of US Central Command
– Overall in the region there are reportedly 40,000 American servicemen.
- 68,000 us forces in afghanistan
In addition no oil would be leaving the gulf, this would remove at least 20% of the worlds oil supply from the market, how many western nations could afford oil at 200 or 300 dollars a barrel. As you can see iran is far from helpless,The iranians have had plenty of time to learn the lessons of iraq and serbia and to produce and acquire countermeasures to us stand off weapons.Iran is far from the helpless victim unable to defend itself, let alone retaliate, that you seem to think it is,and the us forces are not invincible or invulnerable to attack
When the U.S. will absolutely stop from all those 34 long years of hollow, wasting and boring 'barkings'?
ReplyDeleteThe Iranian Navy staged a special minesweeping operation in waters East of the strategic Strait of Hormuz this morning during which it unveiled and started using the country's first home-made minesweeping system.
ReplyDeleteDuring the operation, the Navy started using a newly built advanced minesweeping system, and navy choppers successfully defused mines using the home-made system.
Now, Iran is among the few world countries with advanced minesweeping capabilities.
dear doormat, could you please describe the country's first home-made minesweeping system.
ReplyDeletedo they employ industrial-sized submersible brooms on really long sticks?
Anonymous May 8, 2013 at 5:34 PM
ReplyDeleteActually they are very similar to their nato counterparts ie helicopter towed sledges fitted with magnetic field and acoustic generators, rov`s operated from ships and ships equipped with mine locating sonars, some of it is based on equipment supplied by the us but no doubt considerably updated and now manufactured in iran,no brooms or sticks necessary, but I`m not surprised someone like you would think that brooms were involved
