President-elect Hassan Rouhani said Iran will
expand relations with its neighbors and strengthen regional ties during his
presidency. Rouhani made the comments in response to the congratulatory message
of Sultan Qaboos of Oman.
“Expanding ties with the neighboring countries and strengthening
regional cooperation in order to maintain peace and provide the interests of
the regional nations is one of the foreign policy priorities of Iran’s 11th (incoming)
administration,” Rouhani told Qaboos.
Also, in a message to Jordan’s King Abdullah, Rouhani said that his
government will attempt to expand its ties with all Muslim countries.
