Iran Foreign Ministry has strongly condemned
the use of chemical weapons in Syria, saying Tehran is “deeply concerned” by
the use of such weapons in the Arab country, the official news agency IRNA
reported today.
Meanwhile, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani on
Saturday pointed to the use of chemical weapons in Syria, three days after they
allegedly killed hundreds of people in attacks near Damascus.
“The situation prevailing in Syria today and the death of a certain
number of innocent people caused by chemical weapons is very distressing,” Rouhani
said, according to a government website.
Rowhani added that Iran, itself a victim of chemical attacks in its 1980-1988 war with Iraq, “totally and vigorously condemned the use of chemical weapons.” (AFP, 24 August)

Noteworthy is the fact the neither the foreign ministry in its short
and terse statement today, nor President Rouhani in his personal statement, put
the blame for the attack on either the government or the opposition. This is a significant
departure from an onslaught of articles in the past three days published in rightwing Iranian press, led by Shariatmadari’s Kayhan,
that blame the opposition forces for the attack.
Syria's main opposition group, the National Coalition, accused the government of massacring more than 1,300 people in chemical weapons attacks on Wednesday. The government denies the claim and accuses the opposition for the attack.

Iran itself was the victim of mass gas attacks and over 60,000 Iranians still suffer from the consequences. The UN and the world stood still as Iranians were gassed with ingredients made in Germany, France, UK and US. The so-called "international community" did not even debate the inhuman issue at UNSC as Saddam was the west's darling at the time. Talk about double standards and sickening hypocrisy.
I expect Iran to ask the UN team to investigate- not only the attack, but the source of the rockets, funding, training, and guidance for the attack. Now is the time for Iran to show its leadership and right the wrongs of the past. Yea dont hold your breath- unless you are in Syria and then you had better because Iran is helping Syria use gas against civilians.
The worst part of this is that the Iranian victims of Saddams attacks are also the victim of their own governments support to Asad. No more hiding behind lies. Oh and by the way, the US supplied no chemicals to Iraq- that was Europe and Russia. If you had facts pass them to the UN who has already accounted for the source of the chemicals- not the US.
As an evidence, one can find a photo of Saddam Hussein making handshake with the US representative Donald Rumsfeld.
Is D. Rumsfeld a Jew, because his subordinates and other policy supporters like Paul Wolfowitz, George Tenet, Ariel Fleisher, Anthony Lake and the Bush's cook were the ones.
This article has incorrect conclussions that "neither the foreign ministry...nor Rouhani..put the blame for the attack on...government or the opposition", because on last Wednesday the FM Zarif said that the only terrorist and Takfiri groups could havebeen behind possible chemical weapons attack.
Mr. Zarif has added that they (terrorists) have shown in practice that they do not refrain from any crime.

No,it was just the us who put out the story that iran was using chemical weapons as well as iraq, when saddam gassed the kurds in hallabja the pentagon said that iran had done it
You are absolutely correct. Some of these shills don't know jack about Iran or the region or deliberately lie. US under the Zionist troika of Wolfowitz, Ari Fleisher and Richard Perle (arch Zionist) sent Rumsfeld the idiot to Baghdad to hug Saddam and to advance a $1.7 Billion "agricultural loan" (worth 7 billion in today's worthless dollars)that included "pesticides" (euphemism for nerve agents and chemicals) and Bell 214 helicopters for "spraying".
Iraq began to employ mustard gas and tabun delivered by bombs and barrels dropped from airplanes and helicopters since 1984 as Iranian military continued to advance and almost make a breakthrough near Basra marches; approximately 5% of all Iranian casualties are directly attributable to the use of these agents.
The Iraqi chemical weapons were very crude and used enmasse even resistant to Atropine which Iran under total embargo lacked. The 'western" human rights champions even barred Iran from importing NBC suits and we had to buy cheap South Korean industrial commercial suits. These fools have some nerve questioning the vile actions of their evil masters in DC, London, Paris, Berlin and above all Tel-Aviv. No nation has ever faced such horrendous chemical warfare than Iran.
The source of the attacks is the American support of wahabi, cannibal terrorists of so called "FSA". The terrorists have already demonstrated their willingness to use chemical weapons http://leaksource.wordpress.com/2012/12/06/syria-video-shows-rebel-terrorists-testing-chemical-weapons-on-rabbits/
the massacre of civilians fits well in the doctrine of the rats who are desperate to have Nato bomb Assad and ride into an easy victory. The government can never have committed such an act since it has an upper hand in the conflict with the rats running for cover.
and why is it that this episode happened some few days after the so called 'US trained special forces entered the affected area ?-TOO SHAMEFUL for a DUMB U.N !that sits on the fence as civilians are killed in a useless war that pleases only one entity in the globe called Israel!.
A Clean Break: A New Strategy for Securing the Realm
A Clean Break: A New Strategy for Securing the Realm (commonly known as the "Clean Break" report) is a policy document that was prepared in 1996 by a study group led by Richard Perle for Benjamin Netanyahu, the then Prime Minister of Israel.[1] The report explained a new approach to solving Israel's security problems in the Middle East with an emphasis on "Western values". It has since been criticized for advocating an aggressive new policy including the removal of Saddam Hussein from power in Iraq, and the containment of Syria by engaging in proxy warfare and highlighting their possession of "weapons of mass destruction".

Iran is now forced to admit that it is supporting a regime that is gassing its own people. I guess this is what they mean by justice?
we don't believe Assad is doing this, This is the work of so called "rebels", Assad is literally winning on all fronts, don't really need to use chemical weapons, but the rebels do, so they can invite foreign intervention.
No. America has already admitted that it is supporting al qaeda, terrorist foreigners that are gassing Syrian people.
Anon 5:08---- are you actually that ignorant, bigoted and foolish?
