Diplomats at IAEA told Reuters today they had no information to
substantiate a report by a member of Iran’s parliament that the country has
halted its 20-percent uranium enrichment program.
On Wednesday, Iranian MP Hossein Naqavi Hosseini, deputy
chairman of Majlis’ National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, said Iran
has stopped the enrichment of uranium at 20-percent level. “There is no need
for more production,” he added. He also said that Iran is ready to convert its current
stockpile of 20-percent enriched uranium to fuel rods for its research reactor.
If the report were true, it meant Iran had halted its most sensitive nuclear
activity before reaching any agreement with P5+1 on the future of its nuclear
program
An envoy in Vienna headquarters of IAEA told Reuters that he believed Iran
was continuing to refine uranium to the 20 percent threshold.
The IAEA, which regularly inspects Iranian nuclear sites, has declined
to comment on the issue. But several other diplomats from member states said
they were not aware of any such move by Iran either. (Reuters, 25 October)

"Beliefs" are useless. We need facts. Other member states are not in a position to find out the facts...IAEA is and it's their job to do just that. What's IAEA's reason for refusing to confirm whether Iran is telling the truth or not?

the reason that the IAEA can't confirm the claim is that they are denied access to sites in Iran that the IAEA think to be part of Iran's nuclear development program.
there has been quite a bit of publicity about this, Anon 7:01, and has been several time turned over to the UN Security Counsel....which has several times responded by sanctioning Iran for failure to comply with the IAEA.
a great many people have heard about this.... and perhaps you would do well look into it and come close to catching up

That is complete rubbish,fordow where 20% enrichment is taking place is under iaea safeguards.The iaea does not have the right to look where ever it pleases,especially at non nuclear military sites.The sanctions against iran were purely politically motivated in an attempt to force iran to halt its legitimate civilian nuclear programs

Sadly the iaeas professionalism and impartiality have been rather lacking under yukiya amanos tenure,the hard work and hard won credibility of people like blix and elbaredei is being squandered thanks to this latter day richard butler
