NAM conference was last year. The project is already a year behind schedule, and at least based on these photos it does not appear to be completed anytime soon.
ReplyDeleteA cautionary note: a large percentage of government construction activities in Iran in recent years have been left unfinished, with no prospect to see them finished in many years to come. Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani said last week that more than 60% of these projects will not be finished for decades, because they were never fully funded, but were started nevertheless as propaganda pieces by the previous government.
I don't know the details about this particular project in Isfahan. Hope it finishes soon, looks great. But it is best to wait until a project is actually completed before running a post on it.
Wait until a project is actually completed before running a post on it??-really?-i beg to differ.
ReplyDeletecompletion of a project depend on the owner's financial muscle, and many projects in Iran completed or unfinished are private ventures by individuals or companies .The disclosure by Larijani last week is true but you are giving a picture of a Government on a building spree just for propaganda -which is far from reality.
B.M.A.,
DeletePlease read my comments again. I was discussing government projects.
The picture of Ahmadinejad's government on a building spree without funds for over 60% of those projects and their start up for propaganda purposes is what was offered by Larijani, the Speaker of Majlis, and not this blogger's.
