The Iranian Foreign Ministry on Tuesday categorically rejected a US media report claiming that Tehran has come into terms with the UAE over the sovereignty of its trio islands, stressing that Abu Musa, the Greater Tunb and the Lesser Tunb islands in the Persian Gulf are inseparable parts of Iran.
“The Iranian embassy (in the UAE) has rejected the claim of the journal (US Defense News), and I reiterated here that the report is completely false and no agreement has been made (on the three islands),” Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Marziyeh Afkham said in her weekly press conference in Tehran on Tuesday.
Afkham described the report as a propaganda effort made to harm the policies of the Islamic Republic of Iran. This shouldn't be considered a surprise to anybody. There were a number of Gulf sources in the US Defense News article but none from Iran. That in itself suggested the report be best viewed with skepticism.
For a reminder on how Iran regards the three islands, observers would do well to direct their attention toward the names of the three artificial islands recently created at Tehran District 22's "Persian Gulf Martyrs Lake." They're called "Abu Musa Martyrs Island," "Greater Tonb Martyrs Island," and "Lesser Tonb Martyrs Island." For details, click HERE.
Of course they were fabricated. The day any Iranian government will give up these three Iranian islands, is the day that this government will be violently overthrown.
ReplyDeletei hope that you're correct about the overthrow and hope that the Iraian government made the deal to renounce the claim.
DeleteWho knows what this terrorist anti-Iran regime is lying or not. Maybe those "islands" in district 22 of Tehran will be the only ones remaining in the near future.

DeleteAnon 11:17 PM......You're so dumb, you didn't understand what I meant by my comments. The terrorist regime that you support has no interest in maintaining Iran's true interests. They are willing to give away Islands to maintain their position.

Iran has denied the reports. Do you have any examples to share of Iran giving away an inch of Iranian territory? We went to war for 8 years to protect it; I know you were in Los Angeles at the time, probably raving like you are now, but don't like historical facts slip your mind.
Anonymous January 23, 2014 at 1:43 PM, what is the evidence for that?

Who is "we"? Because I was member of the armed forces before the "revolution" and served from the beginning of war until mid 1980s. Were you born back then or have you just got a big mouth for someone that is been living in Orange County all his life?
Iranian nationalism has been on rise since early 90's and this regime is fairly aware of it. After experiencing revolution made by leftists and Islamist which has resulted in social and economical chaos and hardship, after a devastating war with Iraq and an exodus of intellectuals (which is the greatest one in the modern history), Iranians have realized that the core of Iranian nationalism is the one which will save them, their country and their dignity in the future. With globalist powers fighting over Iran's natural resources, the Iranian people have realized they need to unite on core national interests and nothing else (no ideology etc.) in order to once again position themselves as the number 1 in the region.
