Looks like a good modern vessel. Hopefully, more will add to the IRIN fleet and even some more Yunes class (Kilo) should be purchased from Russia along with old hulls that can be upgraded and relaunched. Even India and China buy old Soviet and east block mothballed ships including aircraft carriers and then refurbish them. China's only carrier is an old Russian one. Iran needs an operational dedicated helicopter carrier, many of whom are rusting in Russian dockyards and can be purchased for a pittance.
ReplyDeleteis it just me or does the sub not have no torpedoe wholes... I'm in no way a connaisseur but the head of this subs seems incredibly smooth...
ReplyDeleteYes,the sub has torpedo tubes which are covered by outer airlock hatch for better hydrodynamic performance when submerged.
DeleteDesign wise, It does not look much different from this German made Israeli's submarine:

But unlike Israel Iran built this itself.
DeleteHeres a comparison between the model and the real thing

Unlike Israel, Iran does not have to rely on American taxpayers to pay for it.
DeleteThey should concentrate on a Ninety Five meter long 3200 ton submarine with the capability to fire missiles with a range of 2500 kilometers. Ostensibly foe defensive purpose. A total of sixteen (initially) would be a good figure. Each to be followed by a modernized version of the previous one.
