Have to say, in terms of artistic and technical qualities the photography for this year's Tehran-based Basij exercises was outstanding.
ReplyDeleteSaddam, Afghan drug traders, Syrian rebels have all shown that Iran's soldiers are usually an unprepared and untrained mess susceptible to the must basic surprise attacks that needs to, for example, tie young boys together to achieve anything via human waive attacks.
ReplyDeleteare you honest that your SADDAM,Afghan drug traders,Syrian rebels have 'shown that Iranian soldiers are usually an unprepared and untrained mess ........

DeletePeople like BMA never lived in Iran and are not Iranian. That's why they support an un-Iranian Islamic fascist anti-Iran regime.

DeleteThe greatest reason for the predicted high losses is that the Iranian armed forces have insufficient amount of armored vehicles and have since the 1979 revolution adapted an outdated way of waging war on the ground (based on tales of martyrdom such as the historic battle of Karbala; counting on the Shia idea of self-sacrifice and a general acceptance of dying for a righteous cause, and fighting against the odds). The number of MBTs, ICVs etc is too low in relation to the number of foot soldiers that can eventually be deployed on the battlefield (such assets were used as substitution for static artillery and moved forward in a slow pace as back up for advancing infrantry). Their doctrine (hasn't changed since the 80s) lean on masses of lightly armed troops rushing across open terrain, a huge number of soldiers divided up into groups of just a couple of men each carrying anti-tank weapons (e.g. Rpg-7s). This method of warfare is bound to produce a high casualty toll against an opponent who is in prepared fortified positions. It's certainly not a good place to start when you might go up against a potential foe such as the American military whose doctrine is vastly different (emphasis lay on armored assault). With the Iranian military it's still quantity over quality. With the American military it's mostly about pure armored thrusts, taking quick new decisions on the field of battle and acting on the breadth of information, concerning the enemey, fed to them continously, tactical maneuvering, high speed, element of surprise.

DeleteThere is little comparison between the remnant of the shahs military of the late 70s and the iri`s military of today, the idea that its composed of poorly trained or even untrained men "rushing across open terrain" is just silly, one only has to look at how well the iranian trained and equipped hezbollah forces performed against the israelis in 06 to see this. The problem initially that led to high casualties was the numbers of poorly or untrained volunteers at the front not any shortage of armored vehicles. The biggest reason for the iraqi defeat in 91 was the iraqis surrendered the initiative and simply sat on the iraqi saudi border with an open flank waiting for the us forces to attack them, saddam had plenty of armored vehicles but in the end they were just targets to the americans. When it comes down to it tho` the chances of any invasion of iran by arabs or the us is pretty miniscule at best,I dont imagine any arab country would be so stupid as to allow their country to be used as a staging post for any attack on iran as happened with saddam
I agree that a war between Iran and Israel will look like the Lebanon conflict of 2006, with the Israeli air force bombing everything and anything and Iran begging the world to force Israel to stop its aggression.
DeleteAnon 9:43 AM you are so wrong. May the Almighty bless you, B.M.A.

DeleteThe israeli airforce would be hard pressed to launch even one raid on iran, while irans missile arsenal, conservatively estimated in the mid hundreds, would have no problems reaching israeli targets, and back in 06 the israeli airforce proved completely incapable of stopping hezbollah from raining thousands of rockets all over northern israel as well as stopping the israeli forces dead in their tracks just over the lebanese border
you are all wrong. May the Almighty bless you, B.M.A.
DeleteThe helmets on the third page are not M1 styled helmets but new ballistic ones.
ReplyDeleteJust because the battalion is called "Imam Hossein" doesn't make them impervious to bullets. And that "Al-Zahra" battalion look ridiculous.
ReplyDeleteThe reason they have given those names is because they are regular cannon-fodder for the sub-human regime. And I agree those crows look like from the movie,The birds.
DeleteWhile the depressed and oppressed Iranian soldier makes bread on the battlefield and pays for a better life out of Iran, the American soldiers will be killing people rapidly. Stop trying to push these poor enslaved people into their death while you sit comfortably outside of Iran. That's evil, pure evil. No Iranian soldier wants war, it's just Iranians in the West.
ReplyDeleteAnd the hasbara shills and American fan boys sitting comfortably outside (no need for the word OF, here) Iran, want and push for war.
DeleteThe west has a duty to make sure these thieves and terrorists don't do to the world what they did to Iran, but being civilized they will negotiate first.
DeleteIranians in Iran don't what to die for the mullahs, and neither do Iranians on the West (they don't even want to live in Iran) but for some evil reason the latter group wants the former group to for for the mullahs.
Of is perfectly fine there. Id##t.
Deleteexcellent to see the Basij training so that next time in tehran they're ready and willing to shoot some more unarmed girls like Neda Agha-Soltan.

ReplyDeleteNow one independent and intelligent person, can see why uskowi appreciated your "inputs" and "new presence".
If you "predict" high loses for the Iranian military and "deficient" mentality of those military forces, then what is your proposal to correct that,......is that that you mean maybe, an replacement of the Islamic Republic ?
