Yazdani’s Powerful Performance Clinched Gold for Iran
Team Iran won the gold in 2014 Freestyle Wrestling World Cup in Los Angeles by beating Russia in the final with the score of 6-2. Reza Yazdani, wrestling at 97 Kg against Russia’s Yuri Belonouskiy, clinched the gold for Iran in a memorable and powerful performance.
The Iranian-Americans filled the Forum in Los Angeles, the site of this year’s world cup, and cheered Team Iran loudly and non-stop during the matches.

- 57 Kg: Viktor Lebedev (Russia) defeats Hassan Rahimi (Iran) by score of 4-3.
- 61 Kg: Masoud Esmailpour (Iran) defeats Aleksandr Bogomoev (Russia) by score of 12-6.
- 65 Kg: Ahmad Mohammad Pahnehkolaie (Iran) defeats Alibeggazhi Emeev (Russia) by Technical Foul (10-0).
- 70 Kg: Mostafa Hosseinkhani (Iran) defeats Khetik Tsabolov (Russia) by score of 9-0.
- 74 Kg: Akhmed Gadzhimago Medvev (Russia) defeats Ezzatollah Akbari Zarikolaie by Technical Foul (11-0).
- 86 Kg: Ehsan Lashkari (Iran) defeats Anzor Urishev (Russia) by score of 2-1.
- 97 Kg: Reza Yazdani (Iran) defeats Yuri Belonouskiy (Russia) by Technical Foul (12-2).
- 125 Kg: Komeil Ghasemi (Iran) defeats Anzor Khezriev (Russia) by score of 3-0.

Reza Yazdani showed once again that he is arguably the best freestyle wrestler in the entire world.
