in Baghdad. On 25 June, however, the Kurdish president made the now-famous
statement on Kurdish self-determination. On 26 June, Nechirvan Barzani led a
senior Kurdish delegation on a visit to Turkey. The delegation, including the
governor of Kirkuk, held talks with Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
