‘Time Is Running Out’ – Kerry on Iran Nuclear Talks

Secretary of State John Kerry said in a Washington Post op-ed piece to be published on Tuesday that time is running out for Iran to negotiate a comprehensive nuclear agreement, and that Iranian leaders face a choice: “They can agree to the steps necessary to assure the world that their country’s nuclear program will be exclusively peaceful… or they can squander a historic opportunity to end Iran’s economic and diplomatic isolation and improve the lives of their people.” (The Washington Post/AP, 30 June)

Kerry wrote that substantial gaps still exists between what Iranian negotiators say they are willing to do and what they must do.

  2. And is Kerry and the west so stupid to think that if it squanders this opportunity that it will get a better deal in the future when iran will be operating tens of thousands of next generation centrifuges, has tens of tons of enriched uranium and very likely a nice little stockpile of irradiated fuel from arak, and have a breakout time measured in weeks at most. What strange compulsion is it that ensures that the west keeps shooting itself in the foot in the middle east

    2. Where does Iran get the raw Uranium to centrifuge? We don't have enough and have to buy it.

    3. What will bring it to absolute disaster and poverty is Western imposed sanctions against the Iranian people. It has made the purchasing power of Iranians to go lower than many of the countries in the region especially for goods and services abroad. As such the West is planning to make Iranians poor so they can undermine their national identity and feelings even more so they can reach their ultimate goal of dividing Iran. BUT time will show they have miscalculated as their analysts are not capable to read Iran's next move in case negotiations fail.

    4. Unfortunately it seems Kerry is stupid, otherwise he would not undermine president Rohani and his liberal approach towards West. What Kerry is doing is not in the interest of America, he is just trying to show certain lobbies inside the country he is still aligned with Bibi Netanyahou. The negotiations are good for the entire region but also for the global peace and harmony and as such Kerry should not support a nut who has never believed in peace.

Oh yeah fracking, oilsands and shale are going to turn america into an exporter of oil,a second saudi arabia,if you believe that load then I`ve got some excellent investment opportunities in nigeria for you

    3. Yes, and that is the reason the price of oil is still increasing?
Have you ever heard of West to East transition? You have 400 million middle class Indians and around 600 million in China who all want transportation and many would like to own their own cars like in the West...currently the majority of that requires oil...so you know where Iranian oil will go in the next decade ;-)

    4. Iranian oil is being exported to countries like India and China without receiving payments in cash. Instead they off load their rejected juke into Iranian market which leads to the destruction of our local productive capability. Ask those thousands of laid off workers in Iran what they think of those countries and the "revolutionary" guard that profits from that misery.
