Burns, Sullivan to Stay On as Negotiators in Iran Nuclear Talks

Today’s U.S.-Iran Bilateral Meeting in Geneva: ‘Good and Useful’

The United States and Iran held “good and useful” meetings in Geneva on Thursday, Al-Monitor quoted an Iranian official as saying.
Meanwhile, Deputy Secretary of State Bill Burns and Jake Sullivan, Vice President Biden’s national security advisor, will remain on special assignment  to negotiate a comprehensive nuclear accord with Iran after they leave their current government posts in the coming weeks, State Department deputy spokeswoman Marie Harf said on Thursday. (Al-Monitor, 7 August)

State Department's announcement on Burns and Sullivan is seen as a strong signal by Obama administration of willingness to reach an accord with Iran by November deadline.
