Afghan
President Ashraf Ghani today signed the Bilateral Security Agreement (BSA)
between Kabul and Washington and the NATO Status of Forces Agreement (SOFA). The
Lower and Upper Houses of Parliament had already ratified the agreements, which
will pave the way for the presence of U.S. and NATO forces in Afghanistan
beyond 2014 to train and advice Afghan security forces.

the Iranian Foreign Ministry, predictably, was bitching about the deal, complaining that US troops in the area threaten stability and security.
