A car bomb, reportedly
planted by Al Qaeda militants in Yemen, exploded outside the official residence
of the Iranian ambassador to Yemen, killing two people, and damaging the residence and buildings nearby. (AP, 3 December)
The ambassador, Hossein
Niknam, was not at home when the bomb exploded at the residence in Sanaa, Yemeni capital. A
security guard and his son were killed. The blast punched a hole into the
residence and heavily damaged several nearby buildings.
