The
Iranian foreign ministry today rejected a report published on Friday by the Associated Press that during the December
round of nuclear talks Iran had agreed to ship substantial amount of its stockpile
of 20-percent enriched uranium to Russia to be made into nuclear fuel, unsuitable to be used in nuclear weapons. Spokeswoman Marziyeh Afkham called AP’s
report “media propaganda.”
“Such
media propaganda is politically motivated and basically aimed at damaging the
atmosphere of the nuclear talks and further complicate the process to resolve
the nuclear issues,” Afkham said. (IRNA, 3 January)
