Thousands Attend the Funeral for Jihad Mughniyeh in Beirut

Tensions High, Retaliatory Response Expected
Thousands of Hezbollah supporters marched today behind the coffin of Jihad Mughniyeh killed Sunday in an Israeli airstrike in the Golan Heights. Thousands more lined streets in Beirut, in the biggest Hezbollah funeral since that of Imad Mughniyeh, Jihad’s father, in 2008.

Also killed in the airstrike were Iranian Brig. Gen. Ali Allahdadi, reportedly IRGC’s chief of intelligence in Syria, IRGC Colonel Ali Reza Tabatabai, commander of Iran’s Radwan Force in Lebanon, a Special Operations unit, and Hezbollah’s senior commander Mohamed Ahmed Issa, the organization’s operations chief in Syria. Total of twelve people, six Hezbollah and six IRGC members, were killed when their three-vehicle convoy was hit by missiles fired from two Israeli helicopters.

Jihad Mughniyeh is the most prominent Hezbollah figure killed so far in Syria. IRGC has lost a number of general officers since its involvement on the side of President Assad in the country’s civil war began in 2011.

The incident would raise tensions in an already-tense region, with Hezbollah supporters expecting a major retaliatory response against Israel.

Laughable really.Other armies lose their soldiers but IRI loses their "generals" while the soldiers are sleeping in tents.

Anon 5:52. You read my mind. Irans tactics are just poor. Generals and senior officers seem lax. Maybe it's down to the culture, who knows....Did US lose even one General in Iraq or Afghanestan from 2001 until now ? Does anyone know ? Cuz i can't think of any.

Anon 9:19 AM...I'm very good at mind reading! Funny you should mention that because I had the same thoughts regarding the US position in Iraq and Afganistan. As far as I know I don't think the US or any other of its allies lost high ranking officers in those conflicts. Also remember what happened on the sensitive Iran/Pakistan border when those IRI soldiers were caught knapping in their tents by the jihadists.

Iran indeed needs to hit back or will be relegated to the Arab impotence and not the regional power it is striving to become. Secondly, Iranians have now lost 4 Generals and 6 nuclear scientists to murderous Zionists and still no consequences? this should not be the case. It is time for a measured and painful response on the occupied Golan or Galilee in Palestine.

LOL! Always funny hearing akhoond groupies thinking Persians are better than Arabs. Akhoond regime IS an have always BEEN so called "Arab impotence" deluxe. At least Arabs attacked to Israel. Akhoonds / fanboys only barked at Israel.

Iran doesn't have either the capacity or the courage to directly confront Israel with a military response at this time.

Iran will stick to doing what it does best...sending some Arab underlings to blow themselves up or attack some civilians someplace.

The islamic regime has its hands tide up in Syria with Assad's regime as well as Iraq against ISIS. If a full blown war should happen between IRI proxy Hezbollah and Israeli forces it won't be favourable for Hezbollah and their paymaster the IRI.The regime in Tehran is costing the Iranian people over a billion dollars a month or more to prop up Assad alone. On top of that god only knows what the adventures in Iraq and Lebanon cost the Iranian nation.
No thanks to the geniuses in Tehran Iran's economy is in tatters and unlikely to recover anytime soon to give some hope to the downtrodden people of Iran.Only a miracle can save the country from this disingenuous regime.
