Iran’s
senior nuclear negotiator and deputy foreign minister Abbas Araqchi said today
in Vienna that drafting the details of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action
(JCPOA), the final nuclear deal, is progressing well, but slowly. As has been
expected, Araqchi confirmed that the current round of negotiations is focused
on the timing and method of lifting sanctions. He added that the U.S. and EU have made
“good clarification” on the framework agreement regarding sanctions relief. The
current round of talks began on Wednesday and will end on Saturday.
