On
Sunday, the official Twitter account of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah
Khamenei uploaded a video with his voiceover entitled, “If any wars happens…”
(@khamenei_ir)
“This
gentleman (President Obama) has said he can destroy Iranian military,” Khamanei
is heard as saying. “But should any war break out, one who will emerge
humiliated out of it, will be invading and criminal America.” (Twitter/@khamanei_ir,
13 September)

Here's the statement from Obama on US ability to destroy Iran's military.

Not very good news at this moment...
I don't think that khamenei is making such comments without any reason????
What do you think? Is there something going on?
Delam shoor mizane! !!!
If any real war happens Islamic regime is kaputt.
and you will earlier kaputt than they may have that experience
Highly unlikely.
We tend to perceive Khamenei as a cranky old man. A man dressed in robes barking revolutionary rhetoric that seems out of date. Certainly that's what many observers thought when he stated last week something to the effect of "What was the point of agreeing to so many concessions in regards to the nuclear power program (which is of strategic importance) and at the same time retaining many of the sanctions?
Then, following that speech, the New York Times published the following piece:
http://www.nytimes.com/2015/09/12/us/politics/iran-nuclear-accord-sanctions.html?_r=0
You can certainly see from their Iranian perspective, the old man has something to be cranky about. And the reason for this crankiness is not about conservatives chances over moderates in the next election or anything else we can assign political weakness on the Iranians and their political system. Actually, it may be observed that for such an important decision for that nation, Khamenei may be casting a wider debate and decision-making over JCPOA.
Iranians are so paranoid about U.S. military that their comments could be disregarded wholesale .Apparently their paranoia is so deep that the wall of mistrust can't be breached anytime soon .With the price of oil dropping , the supreme leader will fade into background and we should learn how to tune out their paranoid rhetoric .
Kaputt?
Obama might be cautioned Iran to lay off the Yemen war from any angle, unless war with directly broke out (all Arab wahabi states years old wish) with US under pretext of GCC- US strategic partnership. Iran must be truly address the warning and play a safe game on YEMEN CHESS board. Rizvi/ India
Paranoid? So America has never dreamed of attacking Iran? America doesn't have colossal fire power ready to bring forth shock and awe in the name of god in a matter of hours? "The military option is on the table" is just something western leaders say every so often. They don't actually do it much??
Dear Anon 07:29 AM
I have to admit that your comments best illustrates the core of our problems with Iran
.It's true that bluster and bluff are part and parcel of international diplomacy , but with Iran we are dealing with a regime who enjoys very little domestic and international legitimacy . The risk of miscalculation and unnecessary escalation is high in an environment that is rife with misunderstanding .Keeping Iran on its military toes vis-a-vie western military forces in the region , could very well have an unintended consequence that Iranians may not have the foresight to avert , a consequence that may not be in our best interest .Iranian military doctrine seem to be wholly postured toward thwarting a U.S led coalition attack .Never mind that the Iranian military will never have a chance in any such confrontation , such flawed doctrine will leave very little of their military thinking toward our real enemy that are takfiri terrorists .
Simply put , our interest in the region dictate that for the Iranian regime to re-focus its military doctrine away from confrontation with us , and surely be targeted on groups such as ISIL,Taliban or AL-Qaeda for example . .
Khamenei is not a cranky old man, he is a cunning leader loyal to the ideals of the Islamic revolution despite opposition from the moderates and reformists. JCPOA presents a difficult problem for him: he wants the sanctions to be lifted, but he does not want the moderates to take credit for it and parlay it into a victory in February 2016 elections for Majlis and the Assembly of Experts; especially the latter, as during its eight-year term there is a chance that the AOE chooses the next supreme leader.
His calculating and shrewd sense of leadership can come to play here: letting the hard right to attack the JCPOA in Majlis, and in the media, for containing articles that are against the national interests and sovereignty of the country. But at the end, most probably saying that it would not be in the system's interests to reject the agreement. With such a move, he will have JCPOA in place to lift sanctions, and the hard right could later accuse Rouhani, Zarif and the moderates of ignoring the country's interests, even treason, to stop them from gaining majority in AOE and the Majlis.
Observers and commentators of the Iranian politics should pay attention to such intricacies of the Iranian politics.

Don't worry dear the Islamic regime will be long gone before Israel goes kaputt and long gone before I or even you go kaputt. There are other employers besides them.

Kaputt means finished in German.
Anon at 11:03 AM, you may kaputt from natural causes, including but not limited for instance to a depression, related to waiting in vain for fulfilment of your wishes....
Anon 10:00 PM
Be careful what you wish for my friend. There are millions of Iranians out there that will take my place in a heartbeat. You clearly haven't grasped the precarious position of the present employers yet.
