A Day
After Iran-led Forces Recapture Alternative LOC to Aleppo
Syrians
rebels led by the Jihadist group Jund al-Aqsa today seized the town of Morek,
last government-held town on the main highway between Aleppo and the city of
Hama to its south.
“Jund
al-Aqsa and opposition groups have seized full control of the town of Morek
after a fierce offensive,” the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) said.
(AFP, 5 November)
Last
month, the Syrian forces launched a major counteroffensive in Hama province
with Russian air and fire support, and the main Aleppo-Hama highway as a principal
objective. The loss of Morek is the first major setback for Russian-led offensives in Syria.
The
capture of Morek comes just a day after Iran-led pro-regime forces recaptured the
only road into the government-held side of Aleppo from the Islamic State
fighters, an alternative route the government uses to reach the western sector
of Aleppo City, which is under its control.

I doubt it that they will be able to hold it as Russia will intensify its airstrikes and the Russian public will support stronger actions after the ISIS downing of their airliner. Putin will have to double its fighter bombers and helicopters in Syria as the terrorist threat masticates.

DeleteI second your statement that Russia has to double its aviation in Syria, but to contrl all Syrian territory after mop up operations it would need a million man ground force.....
Thus Russia goal will maybe to support a control of the western territories of Syria, and a foremost necessity to keep air flight corridors to Syria through Iranian, Iraqi and northern Syria open; at any price, because it is the only fast way to get into the Syria ....... in a case of emergencies.
And those open corridors will be the most difficult and rewarding prize in this case for Russia and the Islamic Republic.

This civil war in Syria is a burden on the Iranian people and its economy. What matters for us is Iran and its economy. Not some war in Syria and supporting arabs in Lebanon.Iran comes first second and third before others.
ReplyDeletemaking war is expensive but more expensiv is a lost war.
Deleteanyway I donot believe Iran economy is suffering too much because of Syrian war, there is no sign for it
every week are 1 or 2 High ranking EU Business delegaton in Iran,
I agree, but the Akhoond are more Arab than Arabs, Iran has squandered over $10 billion in Syria and Iraq since 2012 and the Arab fratricide pit is bottomless. As long as the idiotic mullahs are around, Iran will continue to be stuck with Arab conflicts. Why do you think the Shah was de-Arabizing Iran? that is the only hope.
DeleteThe only hope indeed.
DeleteAgain, the xenophobic anti-Arab Persian nationalism rears its ugly head. Disgusting.

DeleteAgreed, this bigoted so called "persian nationalism" is every bit as backward and repugnant as sunni wahabism, the irony of anon@16:15s post is that pahlavi was every inch an arab style dictator put in power by the us to serve us interests and absolutely no different to the present day arab gulfie royals/dictators
@swakil....Persian nationalism is nothing like the barbaric behavours conducted by those that operate in the middle east like the "Disgusting" ISIS,ISIL,HAMMAS,HEZBOLLAH,DAHESH and other fellow Islamic so called "freedom fighters". This discription of yours simply doesn't work anymore among us Iranians because we know the words you used are the very same words used by Islamic regime to keep Iran in a permanent state of omat-e-islam.
DeleteThere's nothing wrong with being proud of your language and culture, that is the right of all peoples. The problem is when it becomes a belief of cultural or racial superiority. Persian nationalism, just like fascism and nazism, is always defined, as anon does above, in reference to a hated "other". In the case of the Nazis, it was Jews. In the case of Persian nationalists, it is Arabs, or Afghanis, or Indians/Pakistanis. This is what I find disgusting
DeleteThe fact is that Iranians are fed up with the 7th century version of "Islam" and want to be left alone so that they can focus on living their lives, getting education and moving along with rest of the civilized secular world. Islam has brought nothing but grief to its followers unfortunately and secondly Islam is an Arab religion and 95% of Iranians can't understand a single sentence in Arabic, so what relevance does Koran and Arab Sharia tribal code that have for us in 2015?
DeleteYour arrogance in claiming to represent all Iranians is astounding. Sure, you and like-minded bigots like yourself may share your racist and islamophobic views, but you are definitely in the minority my friend. Most Iranians whether Muslims, Jewish, Christian or Zartoshti are a God-fearing people, thanks be to the Almighty.
Delete@swakil.......How about you swakil? Do you represent Iranians? I very much doubt it. If you want to know what real "like-minded bigots" are then look no further than the present members of the islamic regime.May I add hypocrisy to their list because of their pretentious life style.Meaning they preach piety to the masses to be frugal and anti western while in reality they themselves send their family members to the west to buy expensive properties and send their children to "evil western schools".As for their bigotry they have shown that amply to the Iranian people like the baha'i and other minorities. They destroy baha'i grave sites.Don't allow minorites to work in government or serve the armed forces.Something that wasn't practiced by the previous regime. The problem is the regime is not a "god-fearing" one but actually believes it is above god almighty itself.
DeleteI never claimed to represent anyone's views but myself. You, on the other hand, think you speak for all Iranians. Rest assured, you do not.
Delete@swakil...You are right I don't speak for the minority of Iranians that support the islamic regime. But I do speak on behalf of the majority that are sick and tired of the behavour of the barbaric islamic dictatorship and their followers.
DeleteAnon 8:46 AM
DeleteCome on,be a bit realistic anon 8:46,despite the Shah's regime shortcomings you can't compare it to an "arab style dictator" when the present (ISLAMIC) regime uses the (SHARIA LAW) to enforce "arab style"rule. If it wasn't for the people of Iran the present Islamic regime would use beheadings like Saudi Arabia conducts. You can try and convince yourself but don't try and convince others with that diatribe.
@-The US is helping the Rats shamelessly ,wishing to extend the conflict for many years to come while shedding crocodile tears on the Syrian peace talks table.A cunning empire that is only too good in making wars in the name of 'removing dictators but cares very little about the suffering of people in those wars!.
ReplyDelete@A Western country have an elaborate network in Syria with the sole Aim of killing IRGC and Hezbollah officers !.In the past, this Nation used missile strikes with impunity targeting Hezbollah and Syrian military installations in the pretext of "stopping dangerous arms reaching Lebanon"-
@With Russia in the mix, no more strikes, only snipers targeting Iranian, Hezbollah officers.
@GOD forbid but am smelling a very dangerous war unfolding in the middle East unless someone digs the grave to resurrect the UN !!

ReplyDeleteI think you're taking a very simplistic view of regional and worldly affairs .In this interconnected world ,if evil is allowed to spread , no one will be spared its aftermath.
We don't want to be interconnected with arab regional conflicts while our people can't put bread on their tables. You seem to have forgotten the worlds first Islamic dictatorship started in Iran. And we know how evil they are.
DeleteSeriously, most Iranians and other decent non-Arab educated people are fed up with Saudi fanned "Islam" and its daily embarrassment and savagery to all rational people. Recently, sat next to an Indonesian academic on a plane who also as fed with Arab beheading Islam as most non-Arab "Muslims" are, who by no fault were born in so-called Islamic countries but have no connection with it and want to progress than get bogged down in Arab tribal savagery which is eternal and a race to the bottom. Please save us from Islam.
DeleteI just found the following link in the web showing Syria map with variety of the icons. Clicking on each icon shows the related news/video about it on the right hand side bar. Greens are Insurgents and reds are SAA and its allies. Gray is ISIS.
ReplyDeleteBased on this map and related icons Syrian Army has left some tanks and armored vehicle behind upon retreating from Morek.
The Link:
